Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

A poster on the Illawara site advised Saab to WTs, Sailor has rejected a 2 year deal, Aitken will not be re-signed and both Sims bros want out. Sims bros news is a shock as both are Illawarra juniors.

Saab is a development prospect he’s 19. One of the highest rated juniors in the last few years. He’s a full year away from NRL standard but could be lethal with height and extreme speed. Problem with really tall kids is it takes time to get acceleration and core body strength. Tupou from the roosters is the perfect example .

Either sims brother would be good for the right price.

Tariq would fit as a player under Madge. He and Packer play very hard.

Yep ?? absolutely terrorising to halves. Especially if they have just kicked ?

I thought the cutoff for signing players was yesterday but it seems clubs are still making moves.

If we signed Saab it would have to be as a development player joining our top 30 next season or we would have to move someone on as our top 30 is full.

Maybe he will stick out the year at dragons and join us next season

Saab will nit be coming as a development player.

We would have to move someone on then. If it’s me I’m giving him a development contract for the end of this season, he can still play first grade, then promote him next seasons. It’s a loophole to sign players if your top 30 is full.

The story says he's being released for next season.

Makes more sense. We will have a lot of outside depth cover next season if he comes

The greystanes kid is from that Liverpool footy school good mates with talau and a coach from the Liverpool school is now at wests tigers.

Who are you talking about?

Saab

I'd be stoked with Saab. height and speed on a flank is something we haven't had in a long time, and will certainly come in handy with the new rules.

gives us some much needed strike out on the left edge, with Brooks, Luciano, Talau and now Saab or Kepaoa looking like they'll be there long term.

The FIVE Players The Wests Tigers MUST Sign According To MG:

Adam Elliot, Bayley Sironen, James Tamou, Alex Johnston and forum favourite Euan Aitken.

Also mentioned Salmon and Cogger as five-eighth options.

Most are players that Mongrel Cleary would have signed on 4 year 500k + contracts.

Think we can do better - never thought it was a good move to let Sironen go, always
touted as being a lot better than his brother. Maybe Johnston. forget the others.

Blake Green round 2...just joined Knights.

He was miles better than Benji and Walters last weekend, so hopefully they fire up about a second round this week.

For mine we need an experienced backrower to help teach all the young guys - we only have Packer with any experience in our pack next year. So I'd be looking to bring in Kevin Procter. With Blore and Sam Mac coming through and Garner and CheeKam as backup and Twal and Huth as locks then this would add some genuine experience.

We need to clear out Reynolds and Benji - so if we can I'd be looking at Jarome Luai from the Panthers - given they have Burton I think Luai might be the one we can get. He then has to share the halves with Brooks

In the backs Im ok with Momers coming back and adding to what we have with young Kepoa, Cini, Bradley between those 4 and young Hoffman we add some depth and think we are ok with them all a year older.

I'd leave Douehi at FB - just needs to get himsel uninjured for a while.

The big one of course is Harry Grant - we need to find a way to keep him with our class young pack

Agree with most of what you say - would not sign Proctor for a bet. The idea is good though just not
your choice.

AS Willow said Cini needs to learn to tackle before he does anything else, maybe whoever improved
Brooks needs to work on him.

Still has plenty of development but could develop into a quality winger.

Premiership-winning centre Ricky Leutele has signed a contract with Melbourne Storm for the remainder of the 2020 NRL season.

A veteran of 129 NRL games with the Cronulla Sharks, the Samoan international will return to Australia from the UK where he has been playing in the Super League with the Toronto Wolfpack who have withdrawn from the remainder of the 2020 competition.

Both are rocks and diamonds and now starting to pick up injuries on a regular basis.

Can do a lot better I think.

big pass on Saab would rather chase JAC or keep Mommo next year or give a young guy in our system a shot. Looks crap at St George wouldnt be any better here

Seems a short sighted signing, blocking the pathway of Tex Hoy. I cannot understand this move.

They want Mann at hooker, must not be confident enough in Hoy to start him in the halves.

I'll take Tex!

Can sign all the wingers in the world but till they find a forward leader, fix the spine and get a real goal kicker they are going nowhere

Forwards are fine. Halves are the major issue

His signing would help to address our issues with speed at least.
