There will be half a dozen fringe Panthers available at seasons end as contracts are upgraded. This could include Burton, Staines, Laurie and Aeikins as all have been shopped around, contract or no contract. I don't know if the Tigers have shown an interest in any but the Panthers definitely need to save some salary cap.

Hetherington appears to be surplus to requirements.
Id say they won't be letting Staines go anywhere a real talent.

Wouldn’t think Stains will be let go.
Probably a better long term fullback than Edwards.
You would have to think that some of those players would be offered to the Bulldogs on good faith if Barrett holds up his end of the bargain and doesn’t try and poach them beforehand.

True. In Penrith' s case they have a wealth of talent they can't keep them all.

For mine we need an experienced backrower to help teach all the young guys - we only have Packer with any experience in our pack next year. So I'd be looking to bring in Kevin Procter. With Blore and Sam Mac coming through and Garner and CheeKam as backup and Twal and Huth as locks then this would add some genuine experience.

We need to clear out Reynolds and Benji - so if we can I'd be looking at Jarome Luai from the Panthers - given they have Burton I think Luai might be the one we can get. He then has to share the halves with Brooks

In the backs Im ok with Momers coming back and adding to what we have with young Kepoa, Cini, Bradley between those 4 and young Hoffman we add some depth and think we are ok with them all a year older.

I'd leave Douehi at FB - just needs to get himsel uninjured for a while.

The big one of course is Harry Grant - we need to find a way to keep him with our class young pack

MG and Read are the two media people very rarely wrong about the Tigers. Elliott, Johnstone, Siro would all be good signings. Don’t hate Tamou but Packer for another year is smarter his form is strong and he only has a year to run.
Aitken can’t tackle but can be lethal in attack not sure Madge would be interested. Salmon and Cogger were average.

Fellas have we learned nothing from the past, signing journeyman or aging players well past their best on overs has never worked for us, ever. I am a fan of Madge's signing young blokes on the way up, not just because of our crap salary cap situation, thanks again Ivan. Madge is building a culture and playing group, which if the club can keep together, will create a premiership window.
Elliott, would be too expensive, being good in a below average club doesn't mean he would be good in ours and he is not better than what we have already in that position.
Sironen, I'll be honest, I don't watch a lot of Souths games, but the games I saw he was ok, not good or great, just ok and again we already have better in that position.
Tamou, great player, still playing good footy, but not on a multiple year deal, think Packer and Mats
Johnston, was fantastic, signed a new deal with Souths and played very average for several years, contracts up and playing good footy again. Why should we help Souths with their cap issues, sit back and watch the "Pride of the League" be exposed.
Aitken, could we afford him, great attacking player has problems with defense and suspect passing game, i.e. he doesn't.
Salmon and Cogger, journeyman, not going to get any better, doubtful that they could add to our club.

Listening to MG doesn't make you smarter.
