Can sign all the wingers in the world but till they find a forward leader, fix the spine and get a real goal kicker they are going nowhere

Forwards are fine. Halves are the major issue

@supercoach is right though, they are seriously missing some mongrel in the pack. Perhaps they just need a year or two more to grow because there is certainly talent in that group.

Yep second row is the biggest concern

There will be half a dozen fringe Panthers available at seasons end as contracts are upgraded. This could include Burton, Staines, Laurie and Aeikins as all have been shopped around, contract or no contract. I don't know if the Tigers have shown an interest in any but the Panthers definitely need to save some salary cap.

Burton and Staines would be real good pick ups, a swap for Benji and Jennings for most likely less money, youth and speed, make it happen

I thought the cutoff for signing players was yesterday but it seems clubs are still making moves.

If we signed Saab it would have to be as a development player joining our top 30 next season or we would have to move someone on as our top 30 is full.

Maybe he will stick out the year at dragons and join us next season

Article says from 2021.

I would be weary about jumping the gun on Staines, yeah he’s scored 6 tries in 2 games but atleast 4 of those tries I reckon even Jennings could have scored

Agree on Burton though 100% he plays like a seasoned playmaker in only 3 odd games

Staines is a fullback with lightning speed who is playing on the wing. He is confident and from all reports backs himself to succeed, a country boy, not a great risk in my opinion

Definitely. We need players there

Your right but there would be at least 10 teams in the line and we always come second. We are basically used to push up the price

Still would prefer to see him string a few more games before making proper judgement but yeah has all the right attributes I agree

Not a chance Staines is not signed by Panthers also think Burton stays he looks like a ball playing lock. Dean Blore and Diane Laurie are the ones I’d look at third in line.

Great young player. Maguire will develop him into a strike weapon if we can sign him.

On this very occasion I disagree with you @pawsandclaws1 . I read the reason he wants to leave because he doesn't like the travel? That's soft and he should have worked that out before he signed with the Dragons. Not only that his tackling needs a lot of work.

I'm sorry but surely the powers that be at WT can see these worrying signs? We've got Kei and the new Roosters signing - surely we don't need any others?

if we want a fullback we should be going hard for Reece Walsh, and if we're after a 6 we need someone experienced to partner Brooks. if Blore signs on with us with intent to play first grade it'll be the blind leading the blind.

I don't rate Saab, or see the 'speed' everyone is talking about....

I mean, I'd have him for peanuts, and over Jennings, but he's not JAC. We need a JAC.

The way we are going we would be lucky to pick up the milk man ... We get the left overs unfortunately.

Albert Hopoate.... future star of the game has huge wraps about him as a fullback however would be hard to get a start behind Tommy turbo!

Off contract end of this year, most likely will be on the move.... yes I’m pulling out the highlight package - the kid has the speed and X factor along with incredible strength to be a real problem in the league

That is exactly what we need. The question is can he do that at NRL level.

He’s fast don’t worry about that. JAC would be great but It’ll be tough to sign him.

It’s very hard to judge Saab. Last year he did very well in first grade this season he has struggled, but clearly he’s unhappy, he’s got a Dud coach and dud halves.

He’s very raw and needs a lot of work but he would be cheap and a lot better to have waiting in the wings than someone like Jennings.

If we got him we would have a lot of outside backs for next season. Maybe those development guys like Bradley or Cini will be shopped around, I’ve got no idea, but we would have a lot of young outside backs at the club.

Maybe there is a plan to move Doueihi or Mbye to another position. Guess we will find out eventually

He's not the finished product yet. He may have accepted a place in the Maguire school of finishing. Luciano was a recent graduate and Saab has great athleticism, build and the potential to be a star graduate. No chairs in this school.

Doueihi, Saab, Talau, Kepaoa and Kei are an outstanding group of backs. It's good to have a production line of talent so you are not always competing for established players.

We have about a 10% chance of getting JAC and i think the club knows that. He will go to Souths as they ALWAYS seem to find room in salary cap.. If we could pick Saab up it wont break the bank and with a full of fseason with Madge he could be a diamond..
We do really need just 1 big name signing just to break the duck and others might follow. Just like Fitita at the titans..
