Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I wonder what is going to happen if the JAC deal doesn't go through

Any potential signings must be watching the last 7 weeks and see us barely scrape past the dogs ...thrash Brisbane and then suffer 5 losses ...throw in we haven't beaten a side that was in the Top 8 at the time .......

Any supporter of the WT's deserves to be awarded the VC

The Dogs are a rabble as are the Titans as the Broncos. They can all sign players. Money trumps everything else.

Would be monumental for us to sign him. We haven’t signed a current origin player in forever. Would really boost the morale of the fans and the club if we could actually sign a big name

It won't help the problems we have in the forward pack ...but mentally it will be good for the fringe supporters

Fringe supporters? Can you please expand on what you mean by this comment?

Well we are crusted on hard core supporters of the club ....we'd find the positives if we signed Boy George as a prop for 5 years

For the younger folk who don't frequent a Forum like this every day many are probably more excited about the movements of Harry Styles than our constant thrashings

We've lacked genuine pace since JAC and Simona exited. I am excited a current SOO and Aust rep wants to return. I would think all supporters are very pleased?

I've already that signing a current SOO will be a good thing

But I also realize that JAC won't stop the beatings we got v The Roosters on Saturday

Watching talau get mowed down with ease with a 10m head start was depressing

I think signing someone like JAC would make us a 1-2 try better team each week, capped off with morale boosting inside the sheds. He has a very likeable personality

The forward pack looks good for 2021 with the addition of the Parramatta Bopper and a fit Musgrove. Packer is just taking the piss out of WT. Major disappointment. Happy to sign the Warriors prop we have been linked to as he is young and NRL experience.

Backs need some fresh talent with some speed. Hopefully JAC, Staines, etc are the answer.

Number one priority is a Half Back. Who I don't know as not much available. I would love a Cooper Cronk clone.
(yes huge fan and one of the best organising half back I have ever seen. 9 Grand Finals)
I like Brooks and appreciate what he has done for WT but he is not the answer.

Sorry Magpies but our issues start and end with the forwards. That's where it was lost. Whether it is an attitude or talent problem, I do not know. I suggested Jack Hetherington. To me he looks fearless and we could do with some controlled aggression.

I believe Madge quoted defence in the middle and edges. Not just the forwards

Hetherington played 22 games and reported 9 times. (Maybe 23/10) sight him up and let’s see how he goes for us....

Hetherington reminds me of JWH when he was at Manly and moved to the Roosters.

See where you are coming from Paws but..

Hetherington is a loose cannon - we already have one and he will be suspended
more often if he plays for us. Controlled aggression we need, not another liability.

So without been negative as I would love him to sign, Do you really thing we will be signing him? For me it just feels like another PR stunt from player agent and he will end up at a bigger club like Souths or Roosters.. Hope i'm wrong

One issue is that we don’t have anyone backing up. When Talau got tackled after his line break we have about three guys there with him. Roosters had their whole team back

JAC at fullback should be following the ball constantly looking for opportunities

JAC won’t solve our on field problems instantly but he’s a quality player and it would be our first big name signing in forever (can’t remember the last time we signed a current origin player) and it shows other big name players that we are a club you can come to.

He’s also a very hard worker and a great fella players love to play with. We still need to upgrade our halves but it would be great to see us actually picking up a top quality player

Souffs will wangle paying him 350k and finding a spot so he can go
and play with his mate Latrine. I think this will be LM all over again.

I'm certainly not getting my hopes up that we'll get him, things have a way of falling apart whenever a big name is linked to us. I'd be extremely surprised if Souths went for him though, there is no way they have the money and they already have too much invested in their backline.

Yeah it won’t instantly fix our on field problems but just to land a big name after years of missing out will really help the club. Hopefully the start of some more good signings in future years

Thats the problem though ..after every crazy ass loss like Saturday any potential signing are gonna be asking for more money to join our rabble

Sounds like the NRL won’t let players earn more than their current deals if they break they contracts in the future. About time too

That is another joke. Yep we'll give you the same money - the brown paper bags are on the third bench in Acme park at 2pm. Tuesday. Lol.

Addo Carr is one of my favourite players but our team is lacking all over the park. I don’t think huge money on a winger is the smart play.

If the club offloads Mbye, Packer, Reynolds then it makes more sense if we use our remaining cap on a high priced winger without any reinforcements we are nuts.

That was another thing that annoyed me, if you watch brooks who was probably the closest player to Talau when he intercepted, he sort of just follows with a slow jog assuming he was gonna go all the way

Chammas saying we don’t consider JAC a full back now

Here is the excerpt from the article:

"The Herald reported last week that Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire has reached out to Addo-Carr, just don't expect the Bulldogs to follow suit. We're told they are "not interested". The Tigers aren't convinced he is a fullback, either. The Bulldogs and Tigers are both looking to lure Penrith rookie sensation Charlie Staines to their respective clubs."

JAC and Staines would be a great win.

1. Staines
2. Nofoaluma
3. Leilua
4. Talau
5. JAC
6. AD
7. ?

That's an impressive backline but I would like William Kei in the centres in place of Leilua. AD is such a good player and has done so well at f/b. Brooks at 7

I don't really know anything about Kei but I am no fan of Leilua. Bad signing.

Wow so in 2021 we'll be paying Brooks Mbye Reynolds Packer Nofoaluma and Joey to play for other teams...

I like it..

After that intercept we should have been in full on attack mode but it took quite some time for any of the WT players to get down there. It's really frustrating as a supporter to see your team isn't showing urgency. Between no support play, the lack of line speed and the dismal kick chase it does my head in.
