I think Pom said the club hadn't entertained the thought of Foran iirc, and the more I think about it the more unsure I become. yes he's a quality player, but he's getting older, struggled with injuries and personal demons in his career and his defence isn't what it once was. not to mention wanting security and a reasonable contract, we might be better moving Doueihi to 6 or chasing a Burton or a Hastings.

So just to clear the JAC situation up a little.

I got an email from the club to confirm Tigers are interested in JAC but not as a Fullback and only a winger and wingers price not FB price. They are not prepared to over pay and won't get involved in a circus with other clubs and media.

That's a big outlay and a big risk.

300k would be fine for me. If he stays healthy he will turn out to be a bargain but if not he will develop the younger halves which is invaluable.

I'd say he's a pretty big chance of following Barrett to the dogs, but we'd be stupid not to have a crack at him.

JAC's management want $800K. Tigers presumably offering $550 - $600K.

Middle ground $650 - $700K.

Considering Souffs are purportedly paying Gagai $700K & Doggo's are burning the same amount on DWZ, then something around $700K would be deemed fair value. Doubt his management would accept anything less.

IMHO, JAC is not FB, he is a winger, so I would not pay for him more than $ 650k.

100% Winger. But if an inferior winger in Gagai is getting 700K then JAC's management will want at least that.

Well well that JAC info backs up what i was already thinking ie he is no chance to come here and all the talk has been his management trying to use us to bump up his price.

Mitchell all over again.

As a winger we barely even need him, start looking elsewhere and spend the cap more wisely.

Heres an idea, a half who can take ownership of our fortunes.

He won’t get fullback money anywhere. We are still a chance at getting him mainly because right now we are one of the few who can afford him



He would want at least 500k.

Id rather spend that elsewhere and run with our current outside backs and rookies.

We need origin level talent and at the moment there’s no other top level players on the market we should takr what we can get. He’ll improve our team


No denying he is talented but a winger isnt going to fix us.

We need fixing and we need all the money we can find under the cap to address the problem areas.

Signing JAC is counter productive.

If we sign him we will run around with Brooks and Benji again in 2021.

Lack of genuine pace is our issue. JAC turns half chances into tries.

I’m in favour of JAC - we need a current elite player to encourage others to the club. I agree a winger won’t solve our problems but it ticks the pace box which is something.
His signing needs to be complemented with a fullback, a half to pair with Brooks and an experienced hardened front rower to replace packer
