Jack Cogger is has no contract for 2021. I’m sure tons of old Magpie fans wouldn’t mind cheering on another Cogger.

I don't know why everyone's so excited about Burton like its guaranteed he won't be another Brooks/any other player who had a few good games early in their career.

A lot of teams would have loved to have poached Brooks that early in his career, and here we are.

no guarantee's, but its better then waiting 2 years for Madden to develop.
I don't hear any wraps on him at least Burton has a better chance and has been solid so far in his 1st grade games.

Really isnt that many options out there, especially if your looking at replacing two halves.

Foran one a 1 year deal I'd be perfectly fine with. Let's face it, he'd easily be the best half in our squad. If he can stay on the pitch he's quality.

He is 5 years younger than Benji

I am not saying we should sign a 30 year old Foran, I was pointing out the irony of some people saying he is too old, but happy to let Benji stink it up next year at 36

So Barrett has said he wont raid Penrith's squad but surely that won't stop the Bulldogs chasing Burton. If he wants to follow Barrett it's not up to any one else to stop it happening.

I think it would be fair game because panthers have gRanted them to look because spots are taken and they can sort out their cap.

We'll get Burton, big chance Staines, Laurie will stay.

If we can get Matt Burton and Charlie Staines that would be massive! Two very solid players and goal kickers. One not many are talking about is Tyrone May, defensively sound, very strong ball runner, breaks a lot of tackles, great kicking game as well!

Combine these guys with a strong fwd like Christian Welch who is a must imo we are on our way to a very good side!

After reading the telegraph story about Moylan, isn't this where some of our more simple members start banging drum about him being a gifted played and an asset to the Tigers .
Injuries and discipline issues at two clubs, sub par performances, inability to break a tackle and passing so not to get tackled Mitch Moses style and fans start think we need another utility.. We need Moylan like we need a Mbye contract extension.

I would rather see Benji go & keep Brooks, whilst Benji has been a great servant to the Tigers he is too dominant a player & appears to stifle Brooks game. The last time Brooks played without Benji he was Dally M halfback of the year.

I can understand if they want to sign benji for 1 more year to mentor a new young half and possibly play as a back up half of injuries strike but if he is our starting 5/8 we are kidding our self and deserve the spoon

I hope your right, but given his contract runs out end of 2021 and the Bulldogs have signed Green until the end of 2021 the timing seems perfect for a move over under Barrett without having been "poached" as such?

Panthers don’t need him for 2021 if their preferred 6 go down they have Tyrone May. Would be silly for burton to stay another year.

He’s going on 26. Halves don’t magically flick a switch at that age and suddenly turn into rep quality. This is the player he is now, he’s not going to improve. Running 5/8 is his only hope from here. If he can’t make a decent fist of that, I can see him being told next year that he’s free to explore his options.
