Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Gee what a great place to be if you don't care about results. The barber should take off a few ears with the razor as judging by results our team doesn't listen and doesn't learn.

The future is going to be a terrible place to have a brain if this is what 20-30 year olds with too much time and money are actually like.

After tonight's display why don't we offer Brooks, Momirovski and Talau for Grant and JAC??
Give Brooks and Talau a year under Bellamy - and it could do them wonders - and we should go and target young Brayden Trindall from Sharks.
Staggs would also be a dream to have in this team.
Also feel someone of Walmsley's build would be good - a bulldozer type with limited minutes.

Though Benji's a bit unpopular on here atm, think he deserves to be considered as a halves coach and someone like ET could be great for our defensive coaching also - he's got one of the best techniques in the game.

We need to go after the best coaches, not rookies.

I agree and I'm not sure who mentioned it when I suggested Matty Johns, but we'll have limited finances for these types of resources once the the squad sizes decrease. Basically a throwaway suggestion who may possibly do it cheaper. That's all.

But so many claim we're one of the few clubs that make a profit? We so proudly say we're profitable but then say we're poor to excuse failure.

Well a few weeks back..there was a meeting with Pascoe attended by a few from here and I can tell you they increased the spend on the football dept bring in Hartigan from the Rorters and Gray from the Sharpies as well as dietitian's new physio's and sports science guys, various equipment even a barber..the spend was increased by close to 2mill on the previous 3 seasons

Hartigan Gray and Maguire all come from successful Clubs who won Premierships with their respective Clubs whilst there..

The money is going where it needs to go..yes we are all sick of waiting but often just throwing money at something doesn't fix it..

Thanks for the info. You could have shared that a few weeks ago when I questioned you on it.
So we can afford specialist coaches and not Benji and Elijah. Let's do that hey, and sack the barber.

Wait, is the barber a joke?

No..you know the younger generation..hair is very important..they actually think it's a great thing..

That's brilliant. I'll make sure I pledge my membership for next year knowing they are paying for a barber. And people cry poor that we can't afford to compete with the rich clubs.
Why doesn't Pascoe use him?

You understand the spend on support staff can't be used in the salary cap for players, don't you? Who cares if they spend dollars on a barber - its from a separate allocation from the NRL. We have been spending under the cap for support staff so why not spend a bit more and bring in these type of initiatives.

I think support staff like specific coaches would be better than a barber. But hey, it's not my money.

We didn’t really employ a barber did we? I thought that was a joke.

No, I'm told it's true. By Geo and another.

It's even being built into the COE..

Good lawd

It's important to have one barber but not one home ground. I wonder if he travels with the team.

I imagine we’d have one always available on site and then a travelling barber for tidy ups.

That would make sense, player welfare and all. And they say Madge is too tough.

Was the barber in the bubble?

Why not loan out Brooks for a season to a strong club and see if he can come good out of his comfort zone? Just an outside of the box idea.

Both He and WT need a break.

Not a bad idea. They may have less drag and able to run quicker with no ears.

Which player would have what styles, do you reckon?
Like:
Spiky Low Fade Haircut. ...
Classic Brushed Back Hairstyle. ...
Grown Out Layers. ...
Side-Shaved Comb Over. ...
Tousled Hair. ...
Medium Length Undercut. ...
Sexy Natural Waves. ...
Soft and Spiky Tapered Cut.

And do these styles improve their games?

Opens up a whole bunch of TPAs. Actually are haircuts and manscaping a way we could rort the cap? We would probably get fined but could finally atrract someone like Jai Arrow who desperately needs a trim.

Nothing wrong with keeping our players happy and comfortable, it’s part of the game.

We must be rolling in cash if a barber is a priority. It was only a few months ago Benji was fronting a tearful pledge for members money to save the club. That sounds a bit deceitful now.

I doubt it costs that much. Get him out once every few weeks.

Benji would not be a halves coaches bootlace imo.

Plays off the cuff, always has, when things get a little difficult, he drags out the Hail Mary plays that invariably a disaster and generally at the wrong time (e.g. like last night kicking on the third). You need a proper half to coach, someone like Johns, Cronk etc. that have a structure that they are able to impart.

Agree with most of all the other points you made though Lauren.

Would love Cronk to come help our boys. He’s my favourite commentator, so smart with everything he says reads the game so well and is pretty much always right with his predictions and all that. I know he gets classed as a system halfback but it’s clear to me he’s one of the smartest footy brains around

Nothing wrong with keeping our players happy and comfortable, it’s part of the game.

We must be rolling in cash if a barber is a priority. It was only a few months ago Benji was fronting a tearful pledge for members money to save the club. That sounds a bit deceitful now.

lol it's not a priority..money is being poured into sports science..things like nutrition...all meals prepared etc

That's all.

Is the barber Chee Kam I’ve seen him do some of the guys hair ?

Why not - he doesn't do anything else, waste of space.

Will their be a focus on their on field performance or is just about getting them looking and feeling good?

Personally I’d rather them look like a pile of crap and win.

Fair enough. I wish the club would share that info with the fan base though. it would be nice to hear where we are heading, not useless graphs designed to big note themselves.
