Why is every one saying we have no cap space . We get back $ 360,000 from the nrl . Then we have Benji , McQueen , rowdy , Taylor and a couple of lower grade players of contract . I think that we would have about $1,600,000 in cap space , if any one knows any difference please correct me .
Reports from SMH were we had around a million. With Stefano joining, having to pay more for Doueihi and Joey and some other guys probably getting small increases 1 million makes sense.
Money will probably be used for a winger and fullback it seems. No good props worth spending big money on, hopefully we get someone like Bunty Afoa or Isaiah Papali’i who are solid and
Cheap.
This is the mentality the Tigers have to change or they may as well give up. Woods had to slave for years as a Lone Ranger. Until we have a big aggressive forward pack, I.e. more than just Aloiai up front, all our backs (especially Brooks) will continue to look average. The circus will roll on. If the Rorters were in this predicament that get a guy out of a bad contract at another club.
We desperately need a real elite Lock... fixes our pack up in a single move, well that and getting McIntyre and Blores gas tanks up to scratch so we can give Garner the rissole... We have forwards, we need a lock.
If Twal can get a little better with his passing he’s your man, does everything else an elite lock does.
Twal is a prop, a very good one, but he is a prop.
Jake T, Brown, Taumalol, Fischer-Harris, Murray, Asofa-Solomona.... if you cannot see what those guys bring that Twal doesnt, I dont know what to say....
I would put Twal against any prop in the world, no joke, no black orange and white glasses... guy is class. But a lock he isnt... We lose in the props, and do ourselves a disservice at lock thinking he is the answer...
Jake T is considered one of the best and Twal matches all his stats, like I said before he lacks the passing game. I don’t see why he’s not a lock he offers almost everything you want in that position.
Lacks passing...and leadership....and talking, directing, running the plays...
Twal is very one dimensional and passive IMO.
I’ve acknowledged his passing and that’s easily fixed during pre season. Madge many times has mentioned him as one of our leaders at the club, and locks don’t really direct and run plays? They’re very involved which Twal is
Its more how he runs.... 10m out from the tryline, Jake T, Taumololo, Murray etc are dynamic attacking options. Twal runs like a prop and gets held up as if its an early tackle count settling run... thats the difference.
