Tamou, Staines, and Hetherington sound too good to be the truth!

@THE_POM any idea of what position Talau will end up playing next year?

Good question, surely a move to forwards

Talau has good pace for a centre. I think he has been hampered by a hamstring injury. It's hard to stretch out if you lack confidence. He will be a cracking player at centre. Kepaoa and Talau are a potent combination.

With news of Stains or JAC out the back who would you earmark out of Talau or Doeuihi as the centre?

Doueihi for me.

All I will say is that it is a nice and for WTs, unfamiliar position to be in.

And Momiroski?

Surely this means there’s a lack of faith in our dev kids Cini, Bradley, Hoffman?

It's hard to comment because we only have pieces of the puzzle. Hoffman has a lot to offer possibly moving to the second row in the future.

I guess it’s not a matter of lost faith that suggestion I made would be incorrect. I think Madge appreciates a strong junior depth base but what I’m more implying is he seems to be keen to be signing more ready players than what we have in our depths.

With us playing tomorrow and the Panthers Friday, I wouldn’t expect an announcement on him till next week at the earliest. He’ll be 32 and 33 for his contract, which is fine for a prop imo. 2 years, and from that point he can be a year to year proposition. He’ll probably replace Benji as co-captain as well.

Agreed. And I hate to say it but it is impossible to keep the bigger clubs away. Kei, Rizk and Talau are must keeps for development.

@THE_POM once again delivering the goods! I always scroll extra slow to prolong the excitement of any potential news. Always hoping for one last reply until it goes dry till next visit. Big thanks as always

If Panthers win the GF (vomit vomit) then signing Tamou is signing the Grand Final winning captain. Not a bad effort, that doesn't happen very often.

Thanks Pom, great news on the signings, but just as great the numbers sticking at 30. It means hopefully we can retain Eiso and McIntyre.

Just no one tell Benji.

Benji who?

Hearing you rusty, wouldn't matter if the squad size went to 35, Benji should still miss out, we want to move forward, not repeat errors of the past

So from what I can see if its a 30 player squad we have 5 spots left
- JAC, Tamou, McIntyre take up 3 and then 2 out of Hetherington, Simpkins and Staines if we are lucky.

The other option is we let go of 1 or more of the players in our current 25 on the books

If you factor in injuries/suspension they’d all get decent game time.

At the least, good depth like that would prevent us rolling out packs like last week.

Wests Tigers are set to finalise a 2 year deal with James tamou from 2021. Good or bad??

You sure

Just got it from "Michelle Bishop from channel 7"

Holy heck mate, try scrolling back a few pages next time and you'll get all the jibes at your post hahahaha. Not just Tamou coming!!!

Maybe it's just me but I'd like to see Grub go back to the Bulldogs. They guy clearly loves them (and to be honest, he's genuinely tried to be whole-hearted with us too) and it would be good to see him finish his career there. Maybe with Foran on the out it could happen?

I wonder if Tamou's presence could spark Packer into some form.

So how do we fit JAC, Tamou, Staines and Hetherington into our cap next year with a little over $1m available according to reports. Or am I missing something?

Well Tamou is at the back end of his career - the UK is not an option with his family and he'd have to be careful not to outbid himself so to speak. The other three players, well I suspect getting all three may be dependent on Reynolds gaining some commonsense and going to the UK - that frees up enough money. Otherwise I suspect we may snag 1, maybe two of them.

The young Cowboy is physically imposing and could be a beast in the a couple of years but Hetherington hits the ground running and helps our forward pack noticeably IMO, throw in a fit Musgrove as well and we have a bit more intimidation.

Willow, does Madge have the ability to keep Hetherington on the field? What is it, 6 judiciary charges in a 14 NRL game career so far...

I believe Hetherington has the ability to be a top 5 forward in. RL once he undergoes a Maguire initiation/transition workshop.

Ahhh the classic Madge off-season.
Proven to cure all form of plodderness.

IF Tamou is confirmed, and we’re after Hetherington, how many props would that make for next year? I count 7(not including Twal considering he’s mostly played lock)

Hetherington is an impact player like Blore whom we sorely need.

Could be, if he stays on the field lol.

What I’m trying to figure out is how the bench would work out. Don’t like the idea of 3 props on the bench unless one of them is a hybrid that can transition to the back row.

We’re still light on edge forwards that can break the line.

Jack has ripped up playing backrow.
