This makes me scared

What’s scary about it? Sounds like smart management to me. It’s interesting that Benji isn’t eligible for the veteran allowance, lots of people just assumed he was. Using that money on Nofa is smart.

It also makes it interesting for Brooks. Brooks resigned for $300k cap space as opposed to $500k makes him attractive for another year for me

500k? Try 800. For the next 3 years still. We re-signed him after he won dally m halfback. Poor decision to sign him when his value was highest

His stocks have gone down since. $500k now or $300k in the cap
Edit - I thought his extension took him through to 2021 not 2023. You're right. He's not looking as attractive now

It’s a shame, he had two great seasons in a row and earned the extension, I finally thought we wouldn’t have to worry about our halfback but he’s back to his worst this season.

Based on what ? Cleary , Hunt , DCE , Milford , Taylor , Pearce , Moses , Morgan ,Foran , Johnson All on 1 mil or close to it. How many of those would you swap brooks for ?
A first grade half costs 750k at least . Once they establish themselves that’s the going rate . Reynolds, Keary , and Williams would be the best value for money . They’re all on the same as brooks or less . The warriors are playing a kid , and the storm are playing a manufactured half, in the closest thing Aus sport has to the New England patriots .

This is what it is. As we have seen he can be a top half if in form , or a big average one if not . His value fluctuates depending his form . Would you say that about the 10 halves on 1 mil . How many at any point during thier contract were they value for money? To me this is how you need to look at it .

Exactly, Brooks' contract is fine. The only crazy contract is Reynolds, and I can't believe we signed him at that price. Someone at our club was out of control with contracts to Packer, Matulino and Reynolds. I regret us signing Mbye but that one can at least be defended. To me, the length of those contracts is just crazy.

Just read John Asiata from Cowboys looking for a lock position.
We were mentioned as one of three clubs showing interest.

I hope for depth. He is not a starter let alone a bench player.

I understand your point, but Johnson looks 4x the value to me for only $200k more. Bargain to me 😛 His try assists, running game, danger. Haven't seen much of that from Brooksy lad. But I get you, a few over priced ones there.

take it with a grain of salt

**BREAKING NEWS!
Over a month ago I was first to break both stories, as I made contact to a storm’s official who had notified me that Josh Addo-Carr will be at the Wests Tigers in 2021 as a guarantee, for a few months now I have said that the club were favourites over Souths and Bulldogs but little over a 2-3 weeks ago I was told it’s a near certainty and it’s all but done!
Along with despite rumours saying otherwise, that Christian Welch will knock back big $ Sydney offers to remain at the Storm which seems to also be a certainty!
I’ve now been given word, that the club are looking at Israel Folau as a big money signing to bring him back to where it all started as they’re expected to have large cap space if Smith departs which is still very much in the air however..... bringing in Folau as a potential centre/wing I’m assuming which would be monumental!
My source had also made it clear that the Melbourne Storm regardless of any request to leave that Brandon Smith will not be released.... however very strong interest stemming from the Bulldogs, Wests Tigers and New Zealand Warriors!**

Wonder when he’ll be in the top squad, next year or 2022. Glad we are keeping him, very highly rated

Excellent news. He is a centre whom has played on the wing.

We have an outstanding young player whom came through our junior development scheme. He has done everything right so we should back him.

looks like we're making a move on our development players for 2021 with the NRL close to making a decision on squad numbers. interested to see who else bags a contract. who was the young 5/8 from Balmain who was posted signing a contract not too long ago? it wasn't Camroux, but thought that might've been another development deal.

Mikey Tannous, Zac Camroux and Josh Rizk are all v/good players and all WTs' juniors.

I wonder when we will hear if we have resigning any of our current players or extend some of our 2021 off contract players ??? As a club we cannot wait until after Nov 01 as other clubs will approach the likes of Nofo etc.. Other clubs are making announcements already but as usual we are behind the 8 ball..
