Is that dead set our Simon Dwyer? That's incredible? I never thought he was much of a mental giant but gee whiz.

Brad Fittler had him working with the City team as a statistician. He must have a few brain cells to bash together

In RLW today: Injured @WestsTigers star Simon Dwyer's shock poker windfall - first prize of over $50,000 in poker at Star

Funny that i was celebrating my 2nd wedding anniversary with my missus at the casino & i decided to watch a bit of the sydney championships & low and behold Simon Dwyer was at the final table.
Didnt stick around to see if he won but obviously he did.Good on him, hopefully he can make it as a pro poker player cause i can tell ya he wont be gracing the footy field anytime soon as his arm was still in a sling

Any luck that falls his way I welcome. Well done Simon. How good would he have been?

Off to Vegas young man the Tigers will be a distant memory when you are rolling in it. Maybe you will become a major sponsor!

Considering he had to sell his car in the lead up to his operation, and the medical bills would no doubt not have come cheaply, this is a fine reward for Simon and hopefully he continues to gain feeling and motion in his arm.

Surely he would have medical insurance to cover these costs considering the injury was incurred during a First Grade game of Rugby League???

I too would also hope this would be the case? Poor form to let Simon bear the financial burden…

How terrible. He was going to be a star and I was so devasted with his injury. Great to see him doing well in another field, hopefully he comes back as he was one of my favourite players.

Don't be so sure about that guys

Immediate treatment, surgery after the injury should be covered, NRL players don't fork out for knee reco etc. But I don't know about on going treatment and therapy in the years following, given Simons injury he might be paying extra for the best and most extensive treatment there is.
