Sione Fainu #284

At $ 400 he is a great signing but I feel the bears will go over 500 , he is a solid player who will only get better , his brothers may keep him hear but I think coin will be a big issue $ 400 won’t keep him , I think he is worth around 480 / 500 big bucks I know but bears looking for quality , he has it. In spades

Everyone saying on here it’s unders I actually think it’s a better deal than he should expect for minutes played and games. Hasn’t broken out of the box but worked his way up slowly.Still in the potential basket. Can’t see him improving faster than his current rate. We can’t let the bears damage our cap imo.
Happy to be proven wrong with him but don’t think any other club is talking him up like people on here

He will stay here I’m tipping … Perth won’t appeal to him

If he left his brothers to become a Bear I feel that his form could drop due to missing his brothers and home sickness.

I suspect that like many on here, I credit his lift in form due to his brothers being here and although the dollars may be good over the West I feel that a move would be detrimental to his well being.

I think and hope that he stays, but I have been wrong before.

He's good enough at 24 to want to know how good he'll be at 27.

He's a first grader for sure. I remember against the Sharks last year he was a real handful at the end, and got us the penalty that won us the game. In the replay he looked absolutely stoked when the ref blew the penalty. He was buzzing. I've really liked him ever since.

For years our players have failed to replicate their best games for more than a short period. I’m just conservative when it comes to praise because the last thing anyone wants is to be trying to get rid of him in 2 years time.

Yeah I think it's a fair deal for both parties. Certainly don't put it at unders. It may prove to become so with further improvement on his end, but not yet.

Going to be a big test for our club going forward , we have players of top quality plus guys like Sione who will get better and want more coin
Turuva , Luai , May Snr , May Jnr , Sam F , Bulla , KPP , Macca , Skelton ,
All above if they go to top level will eat the cap up quick

Having a number of good players playing at a high level, and that will make command more money next contract is a good problem to have… you won’t be able to keep them all long term, but it will mean that the club should be performing well on the field in the meantime

Samuela will boss it. 50 games already at 22 and on the same edge as Luai and May? He will go to another level this year and the usual suspects will come a knockin.
Samuela and Bula will have breakout seasons imo

Every club has that problem

wonder what bears might offer Latu Fainu for 2028 if he doesnt get time in halves, might be more appealing if Sione is over there too

The Fainu's have stressed all along that their desire is to play all together at the Tigers so if this is true you would think they would be reasonable with salary expectations for the sake of staying together.

Doubt that any of them in the near future will be chasing the money, Sione might want a bit more but highly doubt he has any intention of going elsewhere.

$1.2M is life changing money, the bros will stick together.
