Siro Snr was a tad soft in his early years too. The dogs forwards used to call out 'here she comes' when he as taking a hit up. It all changed when Gus got him at Origin, he was just unstoppable after that.
Curtis is the one player I'm really keen to see play this year.

Bollocks….

**You think Siro snr was a top class backrower straight away?** I remember differently.

I was at Paul Sironen's first game, and like everyone else there, knew we were seeing someone who was going to be special.
From memory he won the rookie of the year as well - maybe not top class straight away, and nowhere near how good he would become, but he was bloody good!

Fair enough. Was his first game v parra and he back slammed Steve sharp? I believe your correct about rookie of the year butI still believe he was on the soft side early on.He had a fair pack around him aswell which Curtis hasn't had.

Our players would save themselves backlash from the fans and the media if they don't fullfill there talked up hype about themselves.
Just do the talking on the field and let the rest talk you up of the field.

They're just reading off the media manager's cue cards. "Strong preseason, new coach, hoping to remain injury free, blah blah blah" The Tedesco and Sironen scripts would have been identical.

You're right Gallagher - I also remember Sirro senior as - well maybe not soft - but certainly he went missing at times. Especially in his earliest rep games.
Steve Rogers and ET were another couple of players who certainly 'toughened' up as they got older.
Not a criticism, mind you, just an observation.

More to that point, Wayne Pearce in his book 'Local Hero" makes a point of talking about Sirro as a guy who up to that point of his career just hadn't realised what an absolute weapon he could be.

Strong in defence and ran good lines. He is fit played really well. The team was rusty and a few passes were ill timed but a win away is a good win. He has a good passing game which will yield us some tries.

Did well tonight. That tackle he made the play after the Kevin gorden intercept was a beauty as we were in deep trouble if the ball gets past him.

im happy for him. hes tough

are all of u above related to sirro, he and sue would have to be the worst backrow in the comp they will not bother any good team in the comp, wake upp and smell the roses we are in for a very poor season with this backrow.

:wtf

People will only ever see what they want to see.

I was stoked with him .

Looked bigger and meaner….reminded me of senior.

Every time he got the ball he made huge metres, hit hard in defense and went within a whisker of scoring a pie more than once.

And will get better with more game time.

Yeah, Sirro was good last night. Took some tough flat balls from Brooksy. And as you say Simon, made a few crunching tackles.

Don't know what BP tiger is seeing but I thought he handled the left edge well in both attack and defence. To me it looked like the Titans struggled with him and he will grow from that performance. If he remains mentally strong I can see Siro being a huge danger in the opposition 20 later in the year. That in itself will free up space for Simona outside him. All good in my eyes.
