Sironen to play 80?

Sirro should start. He's the best partner for Benji in the halves at the moment, so he should start. If he needs a break Humble comes on. Simple.

Sirro can run, pass, kick, and tackle which is more of any of the other options we've tried to pair Benji with in the halves! He's also potentially the mature head our club needs in the playmaking. Turning to an 18 year old for maturity may sound odd, but then this is the Tigers.

Yeah….. Its Sheens fault Tedesco tripped over?????

Another brilliant and insightful anti Sheens riposte.

Simon , it's just my opinion , you don't have to jump to Coach Sheens defence after anyone says another slightly derogatory against him.

Over the years on this forum , I have also supported Sheens appointment , though like many on here , questioned his bench selection & the use of his bench….to call me a Anti-Sheens is far from the truth

On Tedesco , he had only played 14 Or so U20s games the previous year , with a decent pre season. I personally believe that there was no need to start him in Rd 1 in the Cauldron of Leichhardt Oval if he felt he was the long term fullback solution. Of course I know Tedesco, slipped and did his knee in exactly the same way Moltzen did his against the Cowboys, and accidents happen , but I would have like to seen young Tedesco a little bit more battle experience behind him before it all.I even said to a mate before the game , why he was going for a more experienced player to start like Reddy or Moltzen.
I wonder if you asked Sheens if he would have made that same decision to start him in Rd 1 or ease him into the NRL with a decent stint in the NSW Cup , as Canterbury does with their young stars .

On Young Sirro , he was quoted in the RLW a week or 2 ago that he enjoyed his game in the NSW Cup and was happy to slowly ease his way into it , so he could fully revive from his shoulder injury. In saying that , he looked extremely comfortable out there last Sunday , and the future of the team is getting brighter very week....oh damn , just stubbed my finger on the iPad ....frigging Sheens!!!

That's how I would ease him in …let's not forget he is only 4,weeks or so from coming back from a shoulder injury ....and we would all hate to see another Sheens rush job , ala poor Tedesco , who should have got some State Cup game time playing with the big boys, instead of Sheens throwing him in the deep end game 1 against the Sharks

You didn't see Tedesco play the three trials for 80 minutes leading into the start of the season then.

This was no rush job - Tedesco Trained with the first grade squad all through summer, and played 80 minutes in all of the trials - I saw him play in the Foundation cup trial with my own eyes, and he looked every bit a part of that first grade team that the likes of say, Beau Ryan does - he knew his role, confident with his other teammates and played effectively off them.

the Sharks game was just the worst possible luck that a kid like that could have happen to him. It had nothing to do with being rushed.

If they are that worried about the kid getting hurt, they could do what they did with Lui during his tenureship here, and keep his defensive workload down, and put him out in the centres on defense with someone like Ayshford, or Lawrence who are known reliable defenders.

I think he has more starch than Lui, and or Miller, and is a bigger boy than Tedesco, so honestly speaking he should be fine. Every other mob in the NRL debut 18yr olds every so often, and you don't hear about them getting smashed for being brought up too early.

It's not like Tedesco would have played 80 every week until right now anyway. I doubt he would have contributed a great deal to preventing those 5 losses on the trot, maybe may have caught a bomb or two where Moltzen failed and that may have turned one loss into a victory but he would have still been the first guy dropped by Sheens during our losing streak.

Then again, maybe not. Who knows… I'm just saying it's not set in stone how things would have went had he been there all season. I think it'll be good for the kid to sit out a season knowing he's almost guaranteed the jersey as soon as he's fit in that he can sit there and watch the team train and play and learn them like the back of his hand, so that when he comes in he knows exactly what he needs to provide and focus on that the team lacks and where he will be most effective. A small positive I digress, but a poignant one I dare say. I think if he is there Round 1 2013 he will explode straight away.

Well now Blake has gotten the starting gig I guess Siro will hopefully get a half…

I think it will work to both ease him into the game and also give a 2nd rower a break by putting Ayshford in there. I do worry however that with only two forwards on the bench we might be wearing out guys like sauce and Woodsy and Heighno which might cost us at the back end of the season.. guess we'll see!

According to the Footy Show last night, Blake is out. So it will be interesting to see what Sheens does, Sirro or Humble to start?? I'd prefer Sirro but suspect he'll play it safe and start Humble.
