SMH Article: ‘It will always be Wests Tigers’: V’landys’ promise

My Manly supporting mates told me that Mestrov is quite chummy with Isaac Moses …and managed to get a lot of his players on the team ( maybe not his best ones though …)

Could also see a world where Siebold who Isaac manages follows Mestrov over as coach in 2027 ( he is due to be fired by Manly in 2026 ..)

Every cloud has a silver lining they say …😑

They aren’t running the football club. That is the CEO’s charter.
They are the big dogs who are reported to and sign off on proposals put forward that have been designed by the operational admin and approved by the board.
yeah and they aren’t very good at that.

They do run the club. As you pointed out, the buck stops with them. The WT board and CEO aren't granted any real power. It's just a facade.

There's a level of autonomy that the WT simply don't have. We have a board that sits above our board.

Not to mention the HBG chairman Dennis Burgess sits on our board and just decided to remove the majority independent board members and take back full control. We had this for just 9 months before they decided they wanted to take back power.

If you're talking about HBG not getting involved in day to day operations like what brand of toilet paper the club uses, then I probably can concede the CEO is afforded autonomy to make that decision. Anything of substance, his hands are tied.

the issue is shane had backing from the independents on the board to make the right decisions.
whoever the next CEO is will essentially have to be a yes man to HBG to avoid being rissoled by them now. enter lee, pascoe & 15 years of awful management
This is my worry if Richo is replaced, the interview process may be decided by not how qualified the individual is but by how good the hand fits the puppet.

Man, if they give Denny a director's position it's a worry who they would consider for the job of CEO.
