I think the people earlier didn't understand the full context mate. The comment came after other articles about what we were talking about above. You'll see my comments, along with others, started a few days before that fool from Balmain jumped in.

This is not a Wests v Balmain thing. 99% of people want to move forward as Wests Tigers. We all just need to ignore those dinosaurs.

The Wests Tigers independent review last year recommended “the current board should resign” to allow for the recommendations in the report to be implemented.

I know because I have seen a copy of the report. It is there in black and white.

Despite this, one stayed as part of an interim board – Danny Stapleton. And another, Dennis Burgess, has in recent weeks returned as a director.

Burgess is a professional musician of all things and chairman of the Australian Songwriters Association. An interesting skill set to the board of an NRL club.

All this has all been happening behind the scenes in recent weeks.

That and the fact that it's September and this was all promised to be over in June. The coup on the HDB board back in March was cause for concern and that concern is getting louder and louder.

If commitments had been kept, there would be no unrest. There would be no balmain directors shouting.

Please don't make it a Magpies and Tigers thing. It's not.

They don’t have any power though . I think Leo jumped the shark with letting Chammas know of the discontent , it still doesn’t change the fact that the HBG board don’t want a bar of this review .
The only power Balmain can wield is baseless threats about leaving the merger .
I think you’re looking at it wrong .
Balmain are so upset over this they’re pretending to want to leave the merger, despite the fact thier whole club will go kaput should HBG pull thier funding .
Just implement the findings of the review , make the board ( which will still be predominantly wests) actually skilled to be on that board , and move on away from this shit show .
IMHO all clubs , and regions should be reclassified and defined as wests tigers . Balmain and the magpies should both go , and finally after 24 years we can move forward away from this nonsense .
 
The challenge is that these things do flair up given our history. Richo should at least acknowledge that. It's not just the media's issue.

Thank god Richo steps up to the microphone to squash it all. HBG seems to be doing the right thing, despite what it looks like externally. So I take it all back. If they do this, id be happy with a statue of julie & dennis out the front.

Yeh, but there is rule bending and corruption and lies rule bending as committed by Barry O'Farrell.
I'm interested to know what he actually directly achieved thru his supposed experience, skill and connections when he was on our board last time, and the same just recently?
Doesn't worry me personally what side of politics he came from, and the same for him being a Balmain fan, as long as he doesn't fill an independent chair position.
Re. the high commission to India...was he sent there as punishment? 🤣 as I can't think of too many worse places to be sent.

No we can't, that's the point.

That was always a separate issue within the club.

The thread is about BRLFC leaking emails putting forward BS ultimatums to their JV partner which has been nothing but loyal.

Shows the self interest and deflection Gas lighting from some members.

This has poisoned the atmosphere for me and many others.

And all on speculation without evidence.

A low pathetic act.

I'd be happy if they kick them off the board mate if the changes get through.

The official media statement from Balmain said they fully supported HBG..

Anyway ..according to Richo it’s all scuttlebutt …HBG have agreed to implement the recommendations

They do, they live on within the JV which is a new club.

But 90% of your posts were pushing speculation and other BS without evidence.

Likewise with some of the others posting behind their multiple accounts.

Leaves a sour taste.

I'll take richo's word that he is the best chair he has worked with.
