The way it was this year, no one wanted 8 spot. Titans got it by accident. We beat the Bulldogs in that last game and the game at Leichhardt V cowboys after Tommy's passing and we are in the 8!

Would that have been a successful season? Me personally, wouldn't have been much better than what we did, so these 'making the 8' requirements are a bit loose.

I reckon making the 8 is a pretty big milestone for WT’s. There were games that were there to be won. We could have had a very different season end if we played with the same intensity as those that beat us. I would have called that a successful season.

Actually, I'll make this observation. You need a good hooker, a great half/five eighth combination and a very athletic fullback with speed the key and size multiplying that factor. The rest of the team just needs to be filled with willing workers who are good defenders. All other positions outside the spine are worker ants. Obviously, the harder they work the more valuable they are but there's not a great margin between your average. That's the Storm formula. Interchange any forward or back into the system and it still works. Brenko Lee, Reimis Smith, put anyone in who can commit to the plan. We have a good hooker, a speedy, willing fullback.....just need the half/five eighth combo. Forwards are good enough, we've got the backs.

The rest of the team just needs to be filled with willing workers who are good defenders. All other positions outside the spine are worker ants. Obviously, the harder they work the more valuable they are but there's not a great margin between your average. That's the Storm formula. Interchange any forward or back into the system and it still works. Brenko Lee, Reimis Smith, put anyone in who can commit to the plan. We have a good hooker, a speedy, willing fullback.....just need the half/five eighth combo. Forwards are good enough, we've got the backs.

Geez, you're a tough judge. I don't think they were too bad this year but next year....as you say, some of those kids were 20-21. A year makes a big difference at that age. I think next year we'll be dominating most.
