Soccer Super Thread

I saw a bit of the first two games and thought they were hopeless.
The amount of hype I was hearing was not matching how they performed.
Tonight they were very good.

Should have been 5-0 how was that disallowed goal offside!
Yeah I thought the other one was worse, to the eye anyway. But they got their fancy offside computer camera thingy telling us how many arm hair follicles are on the other side of the line so what do I know.
I do know if they make the goals bigger it wouldn’t be so boring.
Go Matilda’s!!!

What a delight to see a TEAM needing a win to come out and actually not only deliver, but to have the ability to play football as necessary and defend strongly.
Great job Matilda’s ( and their much maligned coach).
I wish I could transfer some of that desire to the Tigers! That would be my wish for the rest of the year.
Can somebody organise a really wet weather game ( like v Penrith) where we weren’t outpaced and our mediocre attack/ resolute defence really stood out.

Re the incoming EPL season starting later this week, here is some goss:

"Premier League referees will be “far stricter” on dealing with misbehaviour by players and coaches in the new season, with the FA expecting an initial rise in the number of yellow and red cards shown as a result.

Match officials have been told to issue at least one yellow card when two or more players confront them, as part of a new campaign to improve behaviour at all levels of the English game.

There will be a new code of conduct for coaches and substitutes in the technical area under the “Participant Charter”, which is backed by all the English football bodies. The charter also warns of football bans and criminal proceedings for fans who take part in “tragedy chanting" (explained as when fans sing deeply offensive songs that reference stadium disasters or fatal accidents involving players or supporters."

Ok folks. Attention now moves to Sydney on Monday night to see if the Tilly’s can keep rolling , starting with Denmark.
I for one, am totally confused as to whether Kerr is playing or not, at this rate we’ll have to make the final to see her on the pitch ( coz I’m sure she wouldn’t miss that one).
The question is, as favourites can we produce a repeat performance like Melbourne or will they tighten up. I hope it’s the former but won’t be surprised if they possibly concede an early goal.
That then might be the spark to get them going.
Anyway, I’ll be cheering for them to win, whatever the score.
Go Tilly’s
