Newcastle Jets ended a triumphant Isuzu Ute A-League regular season with a 4-0 win against rival Central Coast Mariners.

A two-goal burst midway through the first half separated the Jets in the contest after an earlier Mariners penalty shout was waved away.

It was three of Newcastle’s stars this season, Will Dobson, Clayton Taylor and Eli Adams, who scored the first-half goals before Kota Mizunuma added the fourth.

A crowd of 20,930 cheered on in party mode at McDonald Jones Stadium as Newcastle hoisted a club-first premiership after the game.

OMG!!
This promotion/relegation is unbelievable!

One of the craziest ends to a game and season ever seen!
🤯

Rochdale thought they'd clinched promotion in added time, only for York City to score minutes later and win promotion themselves!
Just WOW!!!

  • Eberechi Eze scores opener in 9th minute
  • Kai Havertz and Eze subbed off with injury
  • Arsenal move three points clear at the top with win

Arsenal regained their place at the top of the Premier League as Eberechi Eze's first-half strike was enough for the Gunners to beat Newcastle in a hard-fought match at Emirates Stadium.

(Mikel Arteta's side had dropped to second place for the first time since October after Manchester City's win against Burnley in midweek had seen them go top of the table on goal difference.)

Goals from Isak, Robertson and Wirtz lifts Liverpool above Aston Villa as they finish 3-1 victors

Alexander Isak scored in the Premier League at Anfield for the first time since joining Liverpool as the Reds strengthened their grip on a Champions League spot with victory over Crystal Palace.

  • Tomas Soucek heads West Ham ahead early in second half
  • Soucek then makes two crucial blocks to preserve the lead
  • Everton equalise late on when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall drives in
  • Callum Wilson scores in stoppage time to prevent Hammers dropping into relegation zone

Callum Wilson scored a dramatic-stoppage time winner as West Ham boosted their survival hopes with victory against Everton.

The Hammers had looked set to drop back into the relegation zone after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall cancelled out Tomas Soucek's opener with just two minutes of normal time remaining.

By that time, relegation rivals Tottenham were winning at Wolverhampton Wanderers - a result that, coupled with a West Ham draw, would see Spurs move out of the bottom three.

But Wilson - who had been introduced as an 81st-minute substitute - sent the London Stadium wild when he coolly slotted in.

With Spurs also winning their game, West Ham remain two points above the relegation zone. The win felt significant as the Hammers showed the battling qualities they will need in their fight against the drop.

  • Tottenham two points from safety
  • Joao Palhinha goal gives Spurs first league win since December
  • Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons forced off injured

Joao Palhinha's late strike earned Tottenham their first Premier League win since December but failed to ease their relegation fears.

West Ham's dramatic 2-1 win over Everton left Spurs two points from safety, third from bottom with four games remaining.

Roberto de Zerbi's side looked like climbing out of the drop zone after substitute Palhinha prodded in from close range at already relegated Wolves only for Callum Wilson's strike to earn the Hammers an injury-time victory in their match.

The drama was not restricted to the London Stadium as Antonin Kinsky produced a brilliant last-gasp save to keep out Joao Gomes' free kick.

Spurs, who are trying to avoid a first top flight relegation since 1977, also lost Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons to injury.

Middlesbrough remain in the race for automatic promotion from the Championship as they demolished mid-table Watford.

With second-placed Ipswich Town only drawing at West Bromwich Albion, Boro are now just one point behind both Ipswich and Millwall, who are third.

But they will need Southampton either to win or draw when they host Ipswich on Tuesday night to remain in the race when they go to Wrexham on the final day next Saturday.

Morgan Whittaker's goal against Sheffield Wednesday in midweek had ended Boro's seven-match winless run, which had almost derailed their chances of a top-two finish, and the club's top scorer delivered again at the Riverside. He struck a brilliant free-kick before adding a second from close range just before the hour mark to make the game safe.

Slovakia striker David Strelec bundled home at the end of the first half, while Tommy Conway boosted Boro's goal difference with a penalty and a confident finish in stoppage time as Kim Hellberg's side scored five for the first time since November 2024.

Jaydon Banel's 88th-minute goal kept Derby County's Championship play-off dream alive to seal a dramatic late comeback 3-2 win over Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.

The Rams have now closed the gap to just one point to sixth-placed Wrexham, who face champions Coventry City on Sunday.

John Eustace's side had to weather the storm in a strong performance from the Rs -Harvey Vale giving the hosts an early lead before Oscar Fraulo equalised with his first Derby goal.

Richard Kone retook the lead for QPR with his ninth league goal of the season but Sondre Langas's header 14 minutes from time swung the momentum in Derby's favour, before Banel snatched all three points with a stunning strike into the top corner.
