FT: Southampton 2-1 Middlesbrough AET (agg 2-1)
  • Shea Charles' extra-time winner secures a 2-1 victory for Southampton and a place in the Championship play-off final against Hull City on 23 May
  • Ross Stewart headed in from close range just before half-time to draw the hosts level
  • Riley McGree scored after just five minutes to put Boro in front at St Mary's

St Mary's erupts as the full time whistle goes, Middlesbrough players slump to the floor while Southampton players run around and jump into each other's arms in celebration.
Que Sera, Sera rings around the ground, Saints are heading to Wembley. They will face Hull City for a place in the Premier League on 23 May.

Mo Belloumi and Joe Gelhardt came off the bench to score the goals that sent underdogs Hull City to Wembley as they beat Millwall 2 nil in their Championship play-off semi-final second leg at The Den.

Having replaced the injured Kyle Joseph in the first half, Belloumi cut inside to curl in a brilliant opener off the far post after 64 minutes - breaking the deadlock in the tie after a goalless first leg.

Another of Sergej Jakirovic's changes proved inspired as Gelhardt scored within a minute of coming on, firing low through the grasp of Millwall goalkeeper Anthony Patterson.

Hull finished 10 points behind third-placed Millwall in the league table and are on course to continue their 100% record in the Championship play-offs, having won promotion via that route in 2007-08 and 2015-16.

The Tigers will face Southampton in the final on Saturday, 23 May, for a chance to join Coventry City and Ipswich Town in the Premier League next season.

And champion @Leck, there's a precedent where Leeds copped a 200,000 pounds fine in 2019 for "spying" against Derby at Derby's training ground.
Very messy.

I used to be a Villa (still am) and Dwight Yorke fan growing up. However, when I met my wife and her family 16 years ago, I got on the Soton ship.
