Oh, and I have to say it: Great start to the year for SFC.

Bit early to write WSW off though, they're notoriously bad starters. The Japanese fella looks to be a good buy, very zippy and hard to run off the ball for a little fella.

WSW looked more solid last night against the Reds
Deserved to win in the end
Jumpei crrtainly is very nippy indeed

Redmayne was amazing last night.

If he keeps up his progress he is a strong chance to play for the Socceroos in the next few years.

If wanderers are to go one better than last year he will be a key part.
He looks to be in the form of his life.

Redmayne gets an unfair wrap from Wanderers fans (he was fine in the derby, and only really messed up on the last goal), but he is no where near the class of Ryan or Langarak.

On another note, Clisby had a strong club debut last night, Jumpei and Nico both look class and Baccus is developing well, which is good because Bruno looks like he may be a flop. Nichols had a poor game yet wound up with 2 assists. That said, Cornthwaite was very poor again and Aspro is a little green, Hamil is rubbish, I hope Borda's shocker in the derby was a one off or we could be in trouble at the back. I was also iffy on Bulut, he had a good 9 game stint for us 2 years ago, but his resume outside of that is uninspiring to say the least, he may not be up to a full season and is always a brainsnap waiting to happen (Lachlan Scott may need to step up this season).

Agree they came back strong. Santalab was a red every other day of the week though. Think the Reds have plenty to feel hard done by there. I think the Reds have spent too much on their first 11, Kitto is very able but I don't think they have the depth when the injuries invariably hit.

Borda is a quality player mate. He'll come good, although a lot of foreign players do struggle to adapt, even ADP was poor in his second year.

Clisby looks very promising and I agree on Bulut, he butchered a lot of chances against the Ksy Blues and the Reds. Has a first touch like a sex offender.

the lead story on channel 7;s sunrise was flares let off by the crowd in last nights melbourne derby.

not a whisper about one of the best goals you would ever want to see.
how does the code overcome such coverage
