Soft

During the week, Farah took offence to Wests being called soft, well, what I saw tonight was another soft effort, 3 penalties in the last 5 minutes, two leading to tries, if that is not a soft effort, then what is, would you see Melbourne do that, as I said in my last post, fire up Wests and harden up as a team.

Westie, what about the MASSIVE improvement in our defence? What about the urgency? We kicked two 40-20's today and it probably should have been 3 (Ellis's). Our ballplay was better, our scrambling still good.

We have been playing soft but today we didnt. Today we just stuffed up as we had no one taking control during the final 10 minutes.

If reynolds had of missed the last conversion (nothing to do with us) and we had of won, would people have said it was a soft performance, of course not.

You can play well and lose. today was extremely frustrating, but the performance was anything but soft.

Peter Fenton, a journalist and rugby lover, used to gripe about reading an article saying how amazing one team was and how poor the opposition was, yet to look at the score board there was a point in it, every game has a loser, doesn't mean they are no good.

Sure, discipline was not great, but are you gonna tell me that holding them to a scoreless half is soft? Haha, good joke.

We competed and even dominated physically today. Good line speed and aggressive in defense.

Just soft in the head.

It was a much better perfomance, but unfortunatley the last 5 mins will over-shadow that. I don't think anyone has realy said anything about the set we had off the kick off in extra time. I can't remember the last time i've seen a worse set from us and it cost us big time

game goes for 80 mins that means play hard for 80 mins and 90 if it goes to GOlden point, not play hard for 70 mins and go soft the remainder 10

I do agree with this, a pass from dummy half goes to no one, then an offload that goes to ground dived on by Lawrence before Benji kicks from inside our 30\. Was poor set and cost us dearly.

Nothing soft today.
Decisions by playmakers, and a a couple of stupid penalties snatched defeat from the jaws of victory

Yeah but was it a soft effort?

I didnt think it was. Souths are big and hard and we more than matched it with them. The only bloke from them that gave us trouble was their smallest fella (Luke).

I was very happy with our game….up until the last stanza. They answered their critics though today. This side is not soft. A little dumb maybe but not soft.

We were the better side for the majority and people think we are soft :brick:    :unamused: :crazy

People, I was not referring to being physically soft, I was making a point about how when the game hangs in the balance, it is not a time to let your discipline disappear or your resolve to go missing, this is what I meant, when the chips are down you push harder and rip into it, not give your opponent opportunities and easy access to your end of the field. So if you think it is not "soft" to give others golden opportunities and win with five minutes to go, that's fine , but I think it is, I have been a member of Wests Magpies / Wests Tigers for a long time and will remain so, they need to stay strong and not give ground.
