Solomona Faataape #276

I can’t believe some of the comments Faataape is copping on socials. Yes he had a brain snap late when he should have picked up the ball not kicked. But he scored a tough try grounding the ball in wet conditions, pulled off a trysaver on Tuapiki & caught all his high balls. I was worried about his selection on the wing but thought he held his own. Did I miss some other things he did wrong?

And people assuming diving on the ball on half way automatically means we score a try straight after

That was a bad mistake you gotta admit, luai served it up to him on a platter, dive on the ball and take the tackle, get another chance. I reckon an under 8s player would have the sense to pick that ball up rather than kick it . He is playing professional rugby league isn't he. Everything you said he done he is suppose to do as a professional rugby league player . I just don't think he is 1st grade standard. Probably never will be .

Yes Faataape stuffed up at the end….The bloke is still learning to be a first grader. Kick in the arse, yes but don’t hang him. He was trying to create something.
Our pack lost that game up the middle. Our on field leadership failed today, our poor discipline returned and we shat the bed.

Haha...'on a platter'.
Try picking up a wet
oval ball travelling away from you on a wet slippery night when your running at full pace next time you're down the park...youd be lucky to get 2 outta 10

Really ? Haha, full pace . Had no one near him , had plenty of time to pick it up . We talking about 1st grade nrl players right ? Haha. He caught harder balls than that during the game . Yes on a platter !

Were talking about a back up...developing player...the balls he caught were coming to him...yes full pace he want jogging...but youd know all this being an expert on what should and shouldnt happen in the dying minutes of a 2 point game

No expert , but I play football, I have some idea. What's your credentials? Keep assuming mine. I'll reserve judgement , see what he develops into . Might need to develop in reserve grade for a bit I reckon . He can F up and learn all he wants down there .

It's funny you should say that but overall on a wet windy night, I thought both sides did a pretty admirable job in the ball handling department.

Some of Faataape's catches from bombs were exceptional.
