Soward

Absolutely mtd … We need fantasy and a big sense of humor just at the moment. The crazier the better.
Cold hard Reality is way too difficult to deal with ... Yeah, and lots of alcohol ... I recommend lots of giggle juice.

You're kidding right?

The Tigers have very good depth at 6 for next year and beyond.

No, we can never have too many five eighths, we should offload Aaron Woods, Liam Fulton and Robbie Farah to free up cap space to buy more five eighths. We need at least 24 five eighths, that way they can all have a turn at halfback throughout the 2013 season.

Yeah I'm kidding

Got him YES!!

Won't happen, but if it ever did I would seriously struggle to support the tigers. Probably my most disliked nrl player of all time.

I dont understand the hate for Soward. He played 3 origins last year and performed wel. Guided saints to a premiership and clearly has attribites we desperately need like kicking game, decision making in closing a tight game out and organising.

Soward is well known for running things and i can see him moving to 7 with ease at this stage of his career. He would excel at the tigers playing the role we so badly need. And he has speed too….not many guys out there who can organise, kick in general play, make the right decisions more often than not, and have the speed to score them too.

I know a few saints supporters who think the critisism of him is unwarranted and would hate to lose him. He'd be a great pick up.

In fact, id go as far ad to say i want this club to go in an enitre different direction and would love to see a new coach with
1.Tedesco
6.Sironen
7.Soward
13.Anasta
9.Farah

It's gunna be a long off season. **Mate, seriously, name a source. The last thing this forum needs is anymore speculation of player signings without any official information.**

This forum should have a rumours sticky for this stuff. And only rumours that are made official should be posted in contract discussion!

weststigers.com.au is the official website. if you want official information only, go there. weststigersforum is a place for speculation, a place to discuss rumours, a place to discuss players from other clubs. its not an official source, its a fan forum. if everyone was to name sources for every rumour that surfaced, the sources would no longer trust you, nor would they provide you with information.

imo, the forum needs speculation and rumour to survive. its all part of the fun. embrace it.

I have no issues with discussing rumours. But I believe that there are too many people coming out with rumours, with absolutely nothing to back them up, gets a tad frustrating and sometimes overhyped. I'm not saying your source or yourself is wrong, but some of the rumours that are popping up here are complete crap. The forum does not need crap, or it will turn into the a bunch of kids with something they heard from another kid at school.

I know perfectly well were to find official news on the Tigers by the way. I'm only saying I think that a rumour sticky would be a better way to manage the more official to the purely speculative. Eg. Brent Kite is one that we know we have been in discussions with. Luke Lewis was another. Soward, however has nothing but your source.

I understand what you mean by source trust, I personally am close with a WT member. I just find it a little hard to believe all these apparent "reliable" sources one after the other. It seems as soon as one slows down, another name pops up. Some true, but more often then not are false or self created.

Why do you need to back up a rumor? It's a rumor, you don't need to state your source but it does help if you can elaborate as to whether you think the source is reliable.

Why? I can't see what is so offensive about him - there is and has been heaps worse.

i don't disagree with this idea, however it would require management. who decides when a rumour becomes official? personally i find part of the fun on the forum working out who is reputable.

it's not as if media outlets identify their sources. "talk is that player X is unhappy at club Y and may join club Z next season". their justification being "he has friends at club Z and was seen having a coffee with them during the week". we forumers go ahead and create topics based on these articles, even though no source has been provided.

btw, i heard we are clearing the decks for thurston…. haha wouldnt that be good? its fun

If you're starting a rumour wouldn't you want to make sure you've got something solid behind it. I hear about plenty of players who the club has eyes on all the time. But I don't necessarily start a rumour unless it's pretty damn solid info that something will come out of it. I know for certain the club had eyes on Martin Kennedy. But I waited it out and was later told it wouldn't be happening.

I'm not by any means having any sort of shot here, I've just seem some rumours recently that just seem like a mate told a mate story. If its a mate. Say it's a mate. If its on twitter or on the net, state it's off twitter or the net. I agree that some sort of elaboration is needed with sources. A source doesn't have to be an exact person and they don't need to be named.

All I asked about was some sort of source!
And I added my two cents for an option for the forum on having a separate rumours section, which could be added to contract discussion later when something starts to eventuate.
Sorts the good rumours from the bad sort of thing. Helps locating threads on the iPhone aswell, because after 10 or so threads you can't scroll any further to see older posts.

This

Me too. It's not a question of if, instead when will he return to the NRL. There are a lot of high horse riders who say they don't want him back and i guess their entitled to feeling that way, but if he turns his life around whose anyone to stand in his way at having another crack? He's too gifted of a player not to get another chance. My advice to him would be to go down the Michael Vick path. Get involved in the community and get involved in charities, and show all the haters that you have turned your life around and want to do good

Well obviously once there was actually a bit
of backing from elsewhere, maybe the mods could move it to Contract Discussion from Rumours.

I wish we would have a serious crack at JT. But we knows Sheens will buy a few more back rowers just In case instead.

if the tigers signed Soward, I'd be joining Beau and Bryce over at the shire!!!

Soward in a Tigers jersey would be the tipping point for me to forget about this club. But his pea-hearted efforts would suit the team well.

Won't happen though. We have plenty of halves depth with Sirro, Anasta and Moltzen

That's all we need another ego driven half that can kick goals but can't tackle
