Speechless

I was not so shattered seen this all before, think we have lost the past 7 golden points, Brooks and Masters should still be out on the field practicing until midnight. Feel sorry for the forwards who played their guts out to be let down by the players who are paid the money to handle these situations especially when they had the time to at least think it out and enough attempts. Don't go hanging around coffee shops this week get out and practice. Can Cory Thompson kick goals as he does nearly everything else in this team

Brooks came up short tonight poor display under pressure. He is a good player but I’m not liking the lack of power on his edge. He will come good.

Absolute CRAP.
If you actually knew anything about anything you would consider the facts.
Brooks has had to play with some of the worst pack of forwards the NRL has seen in the last 4 years.
The "Totally Overrated", Nathan Cleary has played his whole NRL career with, "Supposably", the most, "Gifted", young squad in the NRL, aided by third party agreements the Tigers could only dream of.

So this thread’s title is the reason I’m posting here cause that’s how I felt. I’ve never been more disappointed. Mainly because I wanted to shove it down Ivan’s throat but as I drove home I realised the disappointment was that I knew they’d score with a minute to go. I knew they’d nail a much harder kick than ones we missed. I knew we’d screw up a field goal attempt and I knew we’d end up losing. I’m no super analyst - it’s just the way it is for us. And I’m speechless, and fed up, and pissed off ….... again.

I hear ya pain Steve and I share in it. I also predicted we would end up losing after Marsters missed the first 2 conversions. I hadn't counted on it being in Golden Point, but once it did go into GP I knew it was a certain loss. This team can make us all look like bloody psychics because they are just damn predictable!

This loss was definitely a hard one. final whistle blew in GP and i just felt empty, god knows what the players felt. But, honestly, Madge has to do something about the mindset of these guys. its all in the mind!

Penrith were GIVING us that game on a plate. and we still couldn't build the confidence to dominate.

Heard some familiar themes from Madge in the press conference. Need to own the moments and play for 80 minutes…

I'm with you. I watched on tv and it's almost scripted, you know that in the dying minutes of the game they were going to score, Cleary to convert doesn't matter where from, and one of the two good field goal kickers to put the game to bed and drive the knife through our bleeding hearts as fans. I won't turn the tv on next week.

With 12 minutes to go, I said to my son, {just watch, they'll score in the corner in the last minute, kick from the sideline and we'll lose in golden point. 15 minutes later, He looked at me, i looked at him - "Told ya so."

Experience counts.

You don’t have to tell us how you feel about Brooks every post. We get it.

You don't have to read it, may I remind you of your love for JT and defending him at every turn, pot kettle black

Sad thing is, he probably pots them from all over the park 99% of the time at training. It's when it counts that it all goes to shit. :confounded:

I was texting my cousin throughout the game because he had a bet in the game, I told him with 15 to go that it would go to golden point and Cleary would kick the winning field goal, no word of a lie.
I said "I've seen this movie before"
He text me after the field goal and said "how did you know?" I said because I know my football team.

One of the commentators said that he was dropping them from everywhere in the Captains Run. Pressure gets to people, although I can remember him dropping goals to win and level games for us before, so he can do it.

Its incredible and very sad really that we all can predict this. Sometimes I feel like I'm almost willing it to happen! Maybe all of our collective thoughts are causing the team to respond in the same way, or Iike you said, it's just the same old movie we've all seen a hundred times and it's not hard to guess the ending.

Reynolds missed a field goal too. Marsters missing the goals. I don't blame Brooks, though he could have won it for us. It's just…

In extra time, Cleary waiting till last to take his shot, and Reynolds was at marker the last couple of tackles, getting ready to sprint at Cleary... last tackle comes, and Reynolds is like a hare chasing him down. He's a fraction late, and the kick makes it, but that chase was all class. 88 minutes into the game, and Reynolds is still giving 100% leading the way with his actions.

I don't know, that's one good thing, I guess.
