Just got home from Cambo, was surprised to see Shaun Spence in the run on team.
Watched him very closely thru the binoculars in his opening spell, imo he worked his ring off and really gave it everything he had, could see him blowing hard around 24 mins or whenever he was replaced just after that penalty…he was stuffed but he didnt shirk his role.

You make your own luck and rewarded later in the game with a pie which reminded me so much of one or two Skando scored in the same spot - one against Bris in our first game??? ...and the other against the Cowboys in 05 when we finally qualified for our first ever semis series. This bloke debuted at the SCG in a WTs Magpies retro jumper on the 50th anniversary of the famous 63 GF.....he seems to be linked to historic and memorable moments whatever he does.

Well done Shaun :sign: :sign:

Was great tonight and when He came off after that first spell you could see that he had busted his gut and given his all out there. Big future ahead

i think he came off around the 16th minute and he was gone for all money . looked like he had just run a marathon , did not see the young skando in him at all , seen a slow guy who seemed to be struggling on a knee injury , but each to their own if they seen a furture champion out there tonight

I think out of all the forwards who have debuted this year he was by far the least impressive.

agree. would have fulton, BMM or pettybourne starting over him anyday.

Tried hard and congratulation on his first try but Akoula and Sue have both showed more for me. As a few mentioned the game looked to quick for him a lot of the time and he didn't do enough of the hard yards in attack or defence -24 meters in attack, gave away 2 penalties and made 22 tackles its not exactly rookie of the year material ( ESP not in a side with sooo many rookies its like a primary school out their tonight).

He was out on his feet after about 10 minutes. Agree that he the least impressive of the guys I have seen debut in this forwards this year. Hopefully he gains confidence from the hit out and the lucky try,

Big game, debut run on performance and he probably burnt a lot of gas on nervous energy.

He played well, he is probably the best defensive positioning debutant of this year.

You need to have something special to be a standout otherwise you dissolve with a OK tag.
Need a killer step or offload or meter eating FRF/2RF. This young bloke only ticked the OK box for now.
I'm not getting excited till i see someone like Andrew Fifita come though the grades and leave an impression.

I am sorry but he did not impress me at all. He was blowing after 5 min and then gave away 2 penalties in a row.
In the right place to score and good luck to the kid. Has done well to come back from injury but I would have rather seen someone like Josh Davies getting a start or Jarrod Farlow.
