A couple come to mind

Cy Youngs 511 wins as a pitcher in MLB

Unfortunately Saints 11 premierships

Anyone have any other records they believe will never be broken ??

australia vs new zealand - ice hockey international highest score - 58-0 [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia_men's_national_ice_hockey_team#World_records](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia_men%27s_national_ice_hockey_team#World_records)

That's a corker - we have an ICE HOCKEY world record.

Australia vs American Samoa - World Cup Qualifier - 31-0

That's off the top of my head.

Wilt Chamberlain's 100 points in a game in NBA in the 60s

Some of the old RL records will never be broken, Dave Brown's 45 points in a game and 38 tries in a season will never be broken. Hard to see Ryan Girdler's 32 points in an origin game being beaten either (3 tries 10 goals).

With Australia no longer competing under the OFC flag I think Archie Thompson's 13 goals in an international game is pretty safe as well.

tendulkar's 100 centuries… dont ever think that would be beaten
murali's test wickets as well maybe

Great post!

Black caviars run is one recent off the top of my empty head.

Unfortunately a lot of world records from the Olympics in the 80's. Who'll really knows if they drug cheated or not. Pity if not cos the cloud of doubt will always be there.

All the NBA youngest player to reach points records (since you can't go straight from high school to the NBA anymore). Lebron holds them all from 1,000-19,000 points!

If Warnie played Zimbabwe, Pakistan and Bangladesh as much as Murali did, he'd have finished with over 1,000 Test wickets. Not to mention Murali had an illegal action for half his career.

Agree on Tendulkar though. It is going to take a true freak of nature to pip that, and it will have to be done largely in the Test arena as the ODI makes way for a bigger T20 schedule.

@chequerazor, I still think you can come straight from NBA from college but you gotta incredibly good, and then you gotta end up better than James, so in reality, Lebron owns that.

I think both will be broken - more so Murali's.

Athletes become more professional in their preparations year on year, as a result I can see careers spanning longer periods. It will get to a point where players are playing a few years longer than anyone before them.

Not sure there is a current player who is going to get close to either record, but someone will break onto the scene soon enough and play test cricket for over 20 years.

Tendulkar's record is definitely the one most out of reach. It is a remarkable feat that will require a special player. Tendulkar himself has played test cricket for over 20 years.

Tendulkar was playing test cricket when he was 16\. Even if careers are getting longer, then we will still have to wait a long time until we see another career that long.

Jack Nicklaus's 18 golf majors seem safe since Tiger went from the whorehouse to the doghouse.

Takers Wrestlemania streak

Made me laugh.

I think Bradmans average is safe.

Usain Bolt 100m record seems superhuman, that may stand forever (or near enough to)

Cal Ripkin jnr's consecutive games record seems safe 2632 consecutive games over 17 years. The previous record of 2100ish stood for 56 years and was apparently unbreakable

Australia's 16 consecutive wins at test match cricket. They have achieved this twice. I don't think it will ever be broken.
