tendulkar's 100 centuries… dont ever think that would be beaten
murali's test wickets as well maybe

I think both will be broken - more so Murali's.

Athletes become more professional in their preparations year on year, as a result I can see careers spanning longer periods. It will get to a point where players are playing a few years longer than anyone before them.

Not sure there is a current player who is going to get close to either record, but someone will break onto the scene soon enough and play test cricket for over 20 years.

Tendulkar's record is definitely the one most out of reach. It is a remarkable feat that will require a special player. Tendulkar himself has played test cricket for over 20 years.

Yeah thats true, its only a matter of time. I remember as a lad Border seemed like such an old man when he retired at 37-38?. Tugga seemed a fair bit more youthful when he retired at 39ish. Punter is 38 and seems a hell of a lot more youthful then S. Waugh at the same age, so yeah, its only a matter of time with the modern era of professionalism that someone breaks onto the scene and plays from 18-40ish spanning a 20-25yr Int. career. Im sure plenty of records will fall when thats the case. Tendulkar is such a rare case for his time. He started playing first class when he was 14\. Such a freak but records are meant to be broken, give it 10-20-30-40 years who knows? but all these records will fall.

as for chucker'tharan, he should have been exiled from the game long before he over took Warnies record.

Margaret Court and Heather McKay are two absolute standouts, along with Bradman's 99.94\. Suggest that Lavers two Grand Slams will never be beaten, nor Kelly Slaters what, 11 World Titles? Consider also the Yanks 132 year unbeaten streak in the Americas Cup.

Most points conceeded by an NRL/NSWRL/ARL team in consecutive games
Current record is 178 by the Bulldogs in 1935
Round 5 - May 11, 1935 - Lost to St.George 91-6
Round 6 - May 18, 1935 - Lost to Easts 87-7

Also, most points by one player against one team in one year.

Dave Brown vs Canterbury, 1935
Scored 11 tries and 25 goals for 83 points in the 2 games Easts played v Canterbury in 1935.
Easts scored 152 points in those two games (87-7 and 65-10 wins)

Michael Phelps 8 gold medals at a single Olympics.

Yeah that was an amazing effort. He is now up to 19 medals with 15 of them being gold and he still has a couple of events to go.

Phelps achievement is amazing but swimming medal tallies for Americans are always a bit dubious. Any reasonably decent swimmer will collect 3 medals each games from the relays because they have such consistent depth. If Phelps was from say New Zealand he could swim the same times and have considerably less medals, particularly gold. I doubt even at his best he'd drag the Kiwis into the medals.

True relays play a big part of that tally but he is at his 4th Olympics and just missed a personal gold this morning by .1 of a second

He's an awesome swimmer with a great record but it is a factor - Shane Gould would have won 6 gold in Munich if she was an American and they had the same list of events as now.

Don't forget the greatest golfer of all time, the Golden Bear, with his record number of GS titles. Would be a tragedy if Woods beat Jacks mark, too more different men you wouldn't find

barry richards scored 325 runs in one day, 100 each session when he played shield for SA against WA in 70-71 season. WA had a young dennis lillee and mackenzie bowling as well, so not too shabby at all
