This guy has been floating around first grade for a long time without really delivering.

It's an incredibly poor decision extending him.

Don't forget, there was some nonsense around him too... talks of him extending then he made a post saying "It's all rumours" like he was looking down on the club, in a sense.
 
Thank the football gods he ain't there. Will not knock him as a human. But to represent out colours in the top echelon - has to be questioned.

Coach Benji - what didn't you see that we did?

Why did you drop Herbert, when we weren't losing?

Remember Benji had that issue for a while after coming back from a shoulder injury, took him months before he got the confidence back to tackle using that shoulder. I remember a lot of forum folk on here were calling for him to be dropped, he was a real turnstile, constantly targeted by opposing forwards.

He wasn’t even getting himself into position to make a collision at all, constantly making the wrong defensive reads and left in no man’s land. Truly one of the worst centre performances of all time

Herbert might not have the same skill set in attack but atleast he has a defensive presence about him, meaning if he hits you, you might think twice about running his way again

Herbert is an intercept merchant, his defence is not much better than toa's.
like toa' good game against cowboys last year at LO Herbert had a good game against Newcastle who were missing Best, Ponga etc.
Both are very poor options from a defence perspective

if fit would have preferred makasini

I hope you're not suggesting we should of stuck with Toa he was dogshit last game, Herbert is really the only one we can play there at the moment.

Herbert will not defend any better than toa unfortunately
it is not fixing the problem
both are crap

Tyrell Sloane is off contract we need depth, ask dragons if we can take him prior to June 30
better at fullback than mason
It was reported benji had a look at Sloane early.parts of the season

Come on man you cant be talking about defense and then mention Sloane.

Herbert...at least he will have a crack and not dog it like ST....he hasnt seemed to bad to me the few times ive watched

Sloane to the wing or fullback we could use him instead of mason. This could allow skelton to go to wing or makasini come in.

Think benji will make an offer to Sloane

not much difference at all between Herbert and Toa, they are both just as bad.

Thanks inns, saved me a reply, imagine Sloane and Toa in the same side, absolute train wreck, trying to improve the defense not make it more of a liability.

It would be pretty hard to sink lower than Toas’ defensive effort in the last match. Makasini was also terrible at centre in the first half of the Warriors game (although came good surprisingly quickly). After Tavana’s performance Benji is also probably hesitant to throw a junior back in for another rinsing.

toa's performance was ordinary but he had a winger outside him that was pathetic too
dont speak to soon Herbert has to tackle and not go for intercepts
our defence out there could be just as bad
