State of Origin 2025

You answered your own question.
One is a King - just plays the game - no fame - the other is a king also - on his own channel. Just the real king walks - doesn't talk. Look at the competition table. Not your social media fable. If it looks like a duck. It probably is
Speaking of idiots.

You blokes do this every year. Make NSW the overwhelming favourites and pile the pressure on them. Then watch them implode.
Im excited to see big Tino back, Ponga at fullback and Toia in the centres....this kid is a gun and will do very well against top opposition. I would have liked to see Big Red get a run off the bench. He is the type of lunatic that can combat the NSW bash brothers and Leniu. On that note, the NSW side looks bigger and more aggressive to me.
Billy will require the art of the ambush - a QLD staple over the years to topple what is a very strong lineup.
The scary part is that this NSW team isnt as strong as it could be. If QLD win game 1 or NSW scores some injuries, they can bring the likes of Papenhuyzen, May, Koloamatangi, Api and even Luai in....gonna be a tough series for the maroons...

Anyone heard of May being a 'difficult' personality? I was told that was the reason he isn't considered. A 10 day camp isn't long enough to bring together players when there is a brash personality in the group.
I've never met the bloke and don't watch his socials to support or disregard the comment.

No one is really talking about Luai missing out. Being the partner in crime with Cleary and winning 4 x GFS with Cleary, winning state of origin last year, still couldn't get him selected.
Yes somehow all of the incumbents from game 3 last year made it back, barring those with injuries, except Luai. Both Moses and Luai were great in that game, but the decision over the halves was made harder by the availability of Cleary, you just can’t leave him out if he’s fit apparently.

The choice of Moses over Luai? Well, neither have set the world on fire this season, but I guess Moses is more of a game breaker - you only have to look at what he did against us in his first game back for the season. On the other hand, the selectors have chosen to ignore the obvious combination of Luai and Cleary that won 4 premierships together, so who knows their reasoning, if they even have any. Probably came down to what colour jersey they wear week to week, tbh.

He seems heavily influenced by black sports star culture in America...i.e. forget humility, sell yourself constantly and basically be the big swinging dick. Its a confidence thing and while it can be humorous, it can rile some up the wrong way.
The thing is though...he talks a big game and plays an even bigger one. In a rep environment, you want extremely confident people in there revving the rest up. NSW has plenty that do this - To'o, Crichton, Mitchell, Lomax, Cleary, Moses, Barnett, Martin, Crichton, Watson, Leniu, Young...pretty much all of them. Usually Luai is there doing it as well. There is no way in the world that May wouldnt fit in with this group. He suits that company way more than he does the Wests Tigers and look at his results this year....best forward in the comp and arguably the best player overall - certainly top 3.
Leaving him out of Origin is shameful and smacking of bias and seething politics.

I can't agree that he's anything at all like a bragging American sports star.
He comes across as a bloke that works hard, has fun with his mates , but never forgets his humble beginnings. I've watched all his vlogs and I've never seen anything to suggest he and Jarome aren't humble.
It's a false narrative being spread by those with an agenda against him in the media.

Hope NSW gets pumped and Laurie gets shredded for dumb selections.

Moses completely out played Luai with equal teams. Luai lost his spot based on that and I think that's fair.

It doesnt matter if it is true or not. At all.
It Is the PERCEPTION.

Seems to be a family trait lol. On form, May clearly should’ve been selected, at least as 18th man in Steph’s place to get a feel for Origin. However to be fair to the selectors, I don’t think May did himself any favours with his social media rant telling his mate to throw away the Blues jersey he gave him when he thought he wasn’t going to be selected. Childish thing to do really and I’m sure it drew the ire of Blues selectors who want players to be loyal and bleed for the jersey.

He does tend to have a bit of a “if your not with me your agaisnt me attitude.” There is definitely an Ego there, he is a joker but he is also an alpha for sure. He plays a big game but his views and motivation for everything is out of spite not desire if that makes sense?

Put it this way, if May was the Nathan Cleary (personality) of the forwards he would be picked all day long.

Yep. A false perception created by the media to keep him down. There's nothing he did to create it so he should just carry on being himself and not be beaten down by it.
I would guess people of your age and elderly generation would have trouble relating to how younger people interact.

Not disputing he is humble, but he also comes across as someone that doesn’t give a f.
It would of been interesting to see if NSW named him in jersey 19 or 20 if he would of joined the team at all, he seems like it’s back me as your first choice or don’t back me at all.
