State of Origin 2026

Madge has been a success everywhere he goes except for with us,the common factor is none of the other outfits had HBG in charge.
Madge has been a success everywhere he’s gone because he’s had the best squad in the league . That’s the answer and nothing else . The moment he gets a team that has a dipping performance or quality he not only regresses to the mean , it well and truely below it . He’s the perfect coach for a team like the broncos looking for instant success to sustain a thoroughbreds group who invest millions , and expect instant success. For most teams who’s not have that type of resource he’s literally the worst hung thin you could bring into your club .
For whatever reason , as good of a bloke he is , he’s a cancer for long term team harmony , which is the key ingredient for long term success .

He also got Newy to a prelim final, which is often overlooked. Left them with a lot of guys who were cooked though when he left.
Strange as reading this I was thinking Gareth Ellis would have gone gangbusters in Origin!

Man I wish we could have landed James Graham, those two playing together would have been an extreme front row. ...

That said, dead set right. People say Wayne Bennett did not succeed at Newcastle. They were a spooner side when he came in and he took them to the Prelim final. Then Alex cracked his spine... That's a party pooper anywhere.

Wayne can build a side. Madge seems to have some performance tricks, the way the Donkeys have imploded shows those tricks have a limited life.

After watching Moses last night, and in Origin, the Blues will be making a HUGE mistake if they pick him.
He's stopped running, he's becoming all too predictable, is making simple errors, missing tackles and has that same disinterested look about him that he had when he wanted out from Wests.

He's playing injured or at least, pretending he is... saw him in the warm up, making faces as he stretched his shoulder and then was the groin.

Built in excuses maybe, but last night was abysmal. Loves throwing his hands in the air and spraying his team mates but he didn't do much to show he'd do any better.
