Righto, this first stat shows the difference in Benji's performances at Five-eighth and Halfback for 2012.

*Benji has made 8 runs or more in a game just 4 times this year, 3 of them from five-eighth (12 runs in Round 1, 12 runs in Round 3, 21 runs in Round 12, 15 runs in Round 21)
*Benji has only made 87 metres or more in a game just once this year (176 metres in Round 12)
*There have been 4 games this year when Benji had no try assists, 3 of those when he was at halfback (Round 9, Round 14, Round 20 & Round 21)
*Benji has missed 6 tackles or more in a game 6 times, 5 of those when playing at halfback and in consecutive weeks (Round 14, Round 15, Round 16, Round 18, Round 19 and Round 21)

Playing 6 or 7 he is still defending in the same position left & right of the ruck.

The only concern I can see from these Stats is probably the 'mental' energy Benji is burning playing Halfback, and as a result, it is effecting his concentration in defence…

Playing 6 or 7 he is still defending in the same position left & right of the ruck.

Ever since his numerous shoulder recons, he now favours one shoulder and tries to hide the other in the initial first contact. At halfback his leader shoulder is his weaker one. You can see he rarely leads with his shoulder when defending at halfback, he uses the old grabbing technique he had in 2005-08.

On the other side of the field, his leading shoulder is his favoured shoulder, so he defends better and with more confidence, as he leads with his shoulder in the first contact, making his tackles more effective.

Good stats though. Can you do some on Adam Blair, including the number of kms he burns every game?

I know this a big one MadUnit but a comparison on our 4 main backrowers would be good and then to compare them to Anasta's number if possible

In my opinion premierships are won or lost on your spine , but the back rowers are almost just as important

Stats dont lie but they dont always tell the whole storey iether. I recon a lot of Marshalls games at half-back have been in seriously injury depleted and underachieving sides. Although the stats dont say it I recon he just looks far more dangerous at 6.

By the way great thread madunit. Have you got any stats on Fulton . Particularly his defence. It would be good to know where he lies as far as the tigers and overall in the nrl. I recon he'd have to be up there.

Or maybe it says we need a quality half who can organize our backs and forwards and then give the ball to Benji when something is on

Thats interesting and I would say we need a new half
Honestly though he has been less involved, I think it could be selfl doubt especially seeing as he blames himself for the tigers slump

The real problem with Marshall is that he has become predictable.
How many times does he run across field to turn the ball back inside to a forward?
9 out of 10?
Defences just follow him across field and wait for the customary three dummies then hit the inside runner or clobber him.
He needs to mix it up like he used to do.
He was most dangerous running the ball when even his own team didn't know what he was going to do - they just had to be ready for the ball.
The opposing teams had no way of preparing for him - that was his genius.
Now he has been pigeonholed as an organising halfback who has to control his desire to be creative and run the ball.
One of the best attacking players to lace up a boot told to change his game.
