Stefano Utoikamanu #241

turnstyle = stef...

it's like luke brooks, no one dislikes Stef as a person, there's nothing personal in our commentary (mine anyway).

however Stef's last game in tigers colours was absolutely pathetic. sure, we can point the finger at 16 other players and their efforts and errors during the game... but this was stef's last game for us and honestly I cant believe we almost paid 800k/900k for him.

Yes, I am actually Stef; I've been hanging out with Jimmy lately so I've taken to talking about myself in the third person...

Sorry, Seinfeld finished 20 years before you were born, so you won't get the reference. Great episode though. Stef liked that show...

They almost paid that much for him...
Thankfully they didn't.

Are there many props in our history that have gone from being not very good with us to very good elsewhere? Blair got better again when he left us. I think fifita and Jeff lima were already really good when playing for us but Sheens just didn't give them a run. Woods, Musgrove, Mikaele all did very little after leaving us. Aloioa seems the same sort of player, maybe slowed down a bit recently. I think many people expected players like ava seumanufagai and sauaso sue to get better, but they never really did. I think while plenty of backs have improved when they've left us, there's not many props, or even forwards more generally, who seem to improve when they leave.

I ask just because I think most expect Stefano to be better when he goes to Melbourne (don't think it's possible for him to play worse) but not many established props seem to have actually improved much when they leave us. Would love some examples.

Shawn Blore at Storm

Had clocked off months ago . It’s on Benji for keep playing him week in week out
That’s horsheshit hes a professional , and we already had 37 players used in one season - a new record .
Nope his performances are on him , and the fact he thinks that just turning up to a different training will improve his fitness is hilarious ! He screams external motivation as a player . And that might work for a few years but eventually if you can’t motivate yourself then you’re screwed . Maybe with age , he will mature and develop this , but seriously if he thinks turning up to storm training and doing a few army camps will magically fix his fitness , if he isn’t putting in , then thats hilarious .

Jimmy shoots, Jimmy scores.

Different with Stef as he shows you glimpses of being elite. If anyone can turn glimpses into weekly occurrences it’s the old flog coaching storms

I think you overlook the psychology of winning.
