Stefano Utoikamanu #241

Is this just a reporter trying to stir the pot ?
Well here you go then
There were reports that the Eels were trying to get Materson long before November 1 and he still had 2 years of a 3 year contract to serve
Those reports had legs as he has now signed with the Eels
That was no coincidence as I am sure we were all aware of those reports which had surfaced months ago
I wonder who released that information long before it actually happened and how did they come to know this
Someone was in the know
Now the Eels have the balls to complain about a player from thier junior ranks who has decided to join us
What a bunch of sooks
If anything the NRL should be investating the sequence of events involving the Materson signing
While theytdohthat why don't they investigate the Moses signing as well
They both had a number of similarities
Parramatta Eels pfft
Should be the Parramatta Worms

Geez they must be dirty . They wasted all thier time chasing RCG and Matterson , and we basically poached all thier best junior talent right underneath them .
Yep , they might be good next year , with a kings ransom for a front rower who spent large parts of last year in reserves , as well as a backrower who , is a fringe origin player , but is known now to be extremely flakey , and has already left your club after a run in with the still current coach .
I’ll take a huge farm re-stock over the off season, and a couple of major first grade signings over Matterson .

They focused on old players, we focused on youth. Their player felt they had little opportunity due to the higher competition so joined us where he can more readily play first grade.

It would be shocking if the eels didn't release him to us. This is a kid on an amateur contract. Signed as a development player, ie a player you plan to expose to a professional environment on a full time basis to aid their development to create a better player in years to come. If he's not going to be in their future why keep him for a year. What incentive is there for Parra to invest in the kid who isn't even eligible for first grade until July. And denying him the ability to triple his current income and support his family

Let this play out but if the Parra plays hard ball he needs to start sulking about welfare and feeling neglected etc.

If we get him for 2020 he'd probably be on about 150k

I agree ....Parra are definitely in a possible premiership window

@happy_tiger
All may not be well at Parra with the number of junior players they're losing things may be happening behind the scenes the supporters outside may not see they sound a bit like WTs a few years back looked good on paper but failed to deliver there maybe a premiership window but it's either cracked or barred.

1st line ....they are focusing on older players ......

BB can you please type in caps lock so Geo can read things easier

Some observations on Stefano:

* Playing a more defensive role than offensive
* Not trusted with a lot of ball (although he runs the necessary lines & backs up) - this could be due to his age, but the kid is a metre eater and can churn them
* Makes a lot of back-to-back tackles
(Sometimes 3 in a row, works hard)
* Doesn't get enough pill in red-zone
* He'll get you points 8/10 lf given then ball 5 metres out with a short ball or cut-out pass
* Good engine. He can give you 60 minutes without many signs of fatigue
* Great impact in 25 minute cameos

Yeah Yeah ...just focus on the Home and Away Finale ..we all know that is far more important to you than WT's affairs

So Stefano is the only player that manager has on his books?

In any case, I'm glad we're not playing by the rules, it's quite clear that Parra have done it twice to us without repercussions so why not. Sounds like Parra want to have their cake and eat it too.

As long as there is no paper trail they can't prove squat.

Dont care if we get hammered honestly, wont change the fact the kids a tiger now. Melbiurne got caught cheating and won the comp eventually. Bulldogs got done in 2002 and won it in 2004. Cronulla have redefined what cheating is and won the comp in 2016. No matter the punishment the nrl dished out the clubs who blatently cheated still came out ahead. My theory if were gonna get caught anyway mind as well go all out get as many juniors as we can even if we breech the antitampering rules. We write off next year. So what in 2 - 3 years we control the talent and get first dibs on what to keep. The rest of the clubs can have our crumbs. But we will be the kings for a good 4 - 5 year period after at least. The best thing about rorting the cap is you get to hoard all the talent and dictate who you release to the other teams, we should just go all out for the juniors now. What did the nrl do to Parra now, any halfwit knows they courted matterson against the tampering rules. So i say its us against the rest of the nrl stuff them time to look after our own backyard, being honest didnt get us anywhere. All the other clubs do it they just know how to hide it, time to get ahead if the curve as a manner of speaking.

Para wont release him Ccording to chammas

Why would you release anyone without getting anything in return? You'd have to be pretty silly to do that. Oh wait...

Parra are scum, we should’ve held on to matto till this was done and made it a swap/ release for release. I’m sure paying an extra couple of weeks of wages would be better than what’s probably about to unfold.

The kid needs to go to the Players association for assistance. Denying him the right to sign a professional contract, support his family out of spite for us is very wrong. It has nothing to do with the player, and everything to do with us.
We even gave them Matto for free and now they won't release a 19 year old who's currently their 7th choice at prop, and not even able to play first grade for most of the season?

This just again shows what a grubby club they are !

But we didn't, because we're run by fools. So we released Matterson and Marsters early and can't even sign an U20s player. Tell me how great our administration is again
