If the club persist with Maguire next season I would say asking for a release end next season would be on the cards .. straight to the Storm or Roosters!

Not sure why you got down voted. It would just be history repeating and no signs we are going to put a better squad around this kid.

Hard to know mate. Maybe he enjoys Maguires coaching? I remember thinking once JT was sacked the "big 4" would stay...........didn't work out so well.

People will still try and tell you he’s the reason we lost them though.

You can't get much more negative than complaining about things that haven't happened.

Hasn't he achieved SOO status this season under Madge? Not bad for a young bloke.

So did Joffa and you could argue so did Grant?

I still maintain that the coaches can get them ready to play, but once they cross on to the footy field, they are on there own and there performances are on themselves?

He's going to look great for Easts in a couple of years.

That's a definite worry imo. Taukeiaho looks burnt out and JWH is nearing the end. Cue the classic Greasy Uncle Nick move to put the tendrils out and wave brown paper bags around.

If Stef buys a set of golf clubs we're in trouble!

Yeah, the type he defos cant afford.

Be playing origin soon enough. Seems the hype he got before he played first grade was deserved!

His leg speed for a man of his size is tremendous.

The commentary team give Madge no credit.
‘Really stepped up his game since training with the blues’
I think he has been pretty decent all year lol.

He has been decent all year but it is hard to argue that he hasn't gone to another level since the Origin camp. He has been our best player since then.

151 metres from 16 runs
41 minutes
1 try

Please throw the damn kitchen sink at him

Money isn’t the issue. It’s getting a winning team around him. If we’re still bumbling round in 2023 and teams like the Roosters come calling, it will be Tedesco all over again.

Madge admitted as much in the post match.

A comment that stuck with me from Brandy was "he just needed a bit of confidence".. and the way he asserted that makes me think that Stefano was probably down on it until Origin camp.

Coming back to Madge, Firzy and Freddy are somewhat those "new age sports psych" type coaches who treat each player on their merit compared to Madge who has more of an overall strive for perfection, don't give an inch type of coach. Not saying one is better than the other but different players strive under different types. Guys like Douehi, Blore, LL, Noffa are usually over confident if anything but guys like Mikaele, Twal, Stefano, Brooks require a lot more TLC and re-assurance.

I really hope Madge hires an assistant who can work with the team on a more individualistic basis. Maybe a forwards, backs, halves coach approach might be better for us?

He has come back from origin camp more confident....

I must say that Madges coaching is what made him standout for origin selection in the first place....just my opinion...

Our support staff are rubbish. We actually for the 1st time in a long time have a core team to work with that could bring us success in a year or two. If they are going to stick with madge (which seems very likely), then snoopy and Ronnie Palmer need to go. We then need to hire a support staff around madge who have a great read of the game and our young team can relate to.
