He gets on the back of the energy when the team plays well. Likely why he’s considering leaving, front foot footy is his go (like all players). The team need to give him reason to stay.

It’s 1 thing to be successful at a successful club but it’s a completely different experience having success at an unsuccessful club you go down in the history books

Wests Tigers prop Stefano Utoikamanu says he is unsure if he wants to remain at the NRL club next year, admitting it is hard being there with them struggling.

He had a great game last week but I'd still prefer he leave than have him sign on the five year 800k contract. We've seen so little of that type of play. He clearly doesn't want to be here and in saying he wants to be on a winning team he is, like always, looking for the soft option.

Let him go, no worries. Let's sign two hard working props instead.

Also, I have nothing against him personally in terms of loyalty and all that, he's free to do what he wants. But I just don't think he has been, or will be, that good for us.

I think Fonua Pole has been far more consistent and impactful than Stef in all honesty and we’d be able to sign him for cheaper as well. It’s time we stop signing on “oh but he has potential.” We need consistent performers not 9/10 one week and then 6/10 the other.

The hardest part of all this is reading that players want to go to a "better" club.
Wests and Balmain people , we all remember losing players regularly to richer clubs, but the players never wanted to leave, and maintained a love for the clubs.
Blokes like Dorahy, Raudonikis, Boyd, Ray Brown, Snake O'Grady all left to make more money, but once their career ended they still considered themselves Magpies.
Now players can't wait to badmouth the place as soon as they leave.
Stef will take cracks at us for sure.
How did we not manage to transfer the feeling players had for the place to the new club?
