Stefano Utoikamanu #241

I honestly think a win like this could change his mind about wanting to leave

It’s 1 thing to be successful at a successful club but it’s a completely different experience having success at an unsuccessful club you go down in the history books

Looks at us in 05 looks at the dragons under Wayne look at the sharks 2016 look at the cowboys

Been part of the west tigers becoming successful again would be an amazing experience for a player us fans have been starved of success for so long we will go nuts
Imagine us after 3 wins in a row we sell out stadiums even tho we are favourites for the spoon

Gooo the tigers
He looked very happy after the game. Hope he wasn't saying his good byes and thanking everyone for their love

He’s gone. We just cannot build. For every under performing player we lose we can only ever buy a replacement underperforming player. We need to be getting 2 to replace 1.

“I want to be here for the rest of the year,” Utoikamanu said. “I love the Tigers, but it’s hard when we are struggling. I love these boys here. I just want to get as many wins as we can before the season ends.

“I think if you’re in the NRL, you want to win a premiership. It has been a bit hard being here. I came here for an opportunity, they gave me that, I’m grateful for that. But it’s been a tough couple of seasons. I just want to focus on winning.

“I don’t know. We’re in discussions now. Anything can happen, really.

“I’ve never really been to other clubs other than here and Parramatta. I came here for the opportunity, and I’m grateful the Wests Tigers gave me that. The main thing I want to focus on now is getting us more wins.

“I just brushed it off to [my manager] so he gets all the heat. It’s been a big talking point in the media. What I’ve got to focus on is trying to get this team back where we need to be.”

Maybe he could pull his finger out on a regular basis to help us get those wins he craves

He had a great game last week but I'd still prefer he leave than have him sign on the five year 800k contract. We've seen so little of that type of play. He clearly doesn't want to be here and in saying he wants to be on a winning team he is, like always, looking for the soft option.

Let him go, no worries. Let's sign two hard working props instead.

Also, I have nothing against him personally in terms of loyalty and all that, he's free to do what he wants. But I just don't think he has been, or will be, that good for us.

The hardest part of all this is reading that players want to go to a "better" club.
Wests and Balmain people , we all remember losing players regularly to richer clubs, but the players never wanted to leave, and maintained a love for the clubs.
Blokes like Dorahy, Raudonikis, Boyd, Ray Brown, Snake O'Grady all left to make more money, but once their career ended they still considered themselves Magpies.
Now players can't wait to badmouth the place as soon as they leave.
Stef will take cracks at us for sure.
How did we not manage to transfer the feeling players had for the place to the new club?
