Thats if that’s even correct. I haven’t seen the contract. How do you reconcile the quality of our squad (no rep players) with the top sides. It doesn’t add up mate, we have completely stuffed our cap over a long period of signing discards.

Im the last person who will defend our gains and losses over the years and the current squad, but we got lucky with Parramatta stuffing their own cap and having half their side off contract at once, therefore Pap wasn’t a priority. So we swooped.

And 14 other clubs just let it happen? I’m glad we got him but I’m sure we sacrificed other good signings for next year because we always have to pay overs to get guys. That’s on JP and the fact he has failed to make us an attractive club.

The most defeatist cop out statement I get to read here over and over and over...

I remember 2001-2003 when we couldn't sign anyone.
I remember winning the comp in 2005 and not being able to sign anyone...
I remember finishing top 4 - 2 years in a row and not being able to sign anyone outside Adam Blair.
I remember having the Australian National coach and not being able to sign anyone.
All this well before Pascoe and Madge.

I'd like someone to exactly point out to me when we've ever been an attractive club - Because it just hasn't ever happened.

These are the 2 best signings we've made in the comp since 09-10,

How about a bit of credit when (are where) it's due.

Gareth Ellis? Lote? Prince? Hodgson? All examples of signatures that changed our fortunes. Under JP the good players are all scrambling for the exits.
 
Most players are bums these days, they don't put in. Hopefully a side starts winning or already is and then they love a club.

The maggies under Roy were the only group to always put in regardless in my time. Been getting steadily worse since across the board.

Not our clubs faulty this phenomenon.

Truth is most players should pay the fans to watch them.

Gareth & Lote were in 09-10 and the last quality players we signed.

Prince we signed off a long term injury and built his Career here - Was hardly a high profile signing at the time....
Hodgson was in 03-04... And that's one.

Nothing you've said changes what I've said - At best you've come up with 4 players (in 23 Seasons)

How do you blame Pascoe for losing Tedesco - When he's signed a contract elsewhere the previous time his contract was up?
He'd already left the club once... And chickened out!!
He was never staying again...
That's why he didn't sign the 1.1m deal he had on the table for months before he left for the Roosters.....

We were getting shafted by his management, who were stringing us along to get a better deal elsewhere and leave us with no time to sign anyone else. - Just a power play from their management at the time. Moses then moved onto Brisbane and look at where they've been for however long.

ps: We've had no good players under Pascoe...

- Still couldn't take us to finals football...

We're no worse off now, Than when we had them.

Thats true however WT were only ever in the black because they were being propped up by Wests Ashfield - the goal was/is to become self sufficient and he has gone a long way to achieving that.

We tried (Really hard) to keep Tedesco - Papanhuyzen was behind Tedesco at the time, Slater is the best there ever was and was retiring... He had an opportunity and took it.

Even if we'd kept Tedesco, In what world would Panahuyzen stay at the club to play Ressies behind him?

Not sure if anyone knows really what the real deal is with players money wise, but if the media had the slightest inkling of us paying overs for anyone they would be giving us a serve big time, just as is the case with the ever increasing Nation Debt that Luke Brooks has become.

On the contrary it seems to have been generally accept that we signed a Dally M second rower for around 550K at a time when Lucy was wanting 700K to re-sign.

Even allowing for the fact that Parramatta got Papali'i for a song initially and wanted to keep paying him peanuts, my take on it was that the media were giving it to Parramatta for their failure to retain him as well as others players at the time.

Pretty simple really

Problem is we the club has dug itself one almighty hole and getting out of it will take years

Part of that process included putting faith in ppl that ended that ended up shittingon us

Its a shame that happened but the likes of JP and MM have our best interest at hearts and are still putting in and a change from that would likely prolong our suffering rather than fixing it

So one or two good players are coming to join Stef, but we also letting go of probably our two best performed guys this year. Sorry to say it but I think we will still struggle with the squad we have next year. Api and Papi are fine signings but do you expect we will compete with sides with the rep players across the park? I’m saying I think we probably had to throw the kitchen sink at them and we’ll still be average.

Yeah, Luc is one of our better players - But if we'd paid 750k to keep him... You'd all be complaining about that.
No one would have said anything about Kelma leaving prior to the Trials. That one hurts a bit, But what can you do...

Put 30 odd blokes in any workplace, How many of them are 100% happy there - And how many can't get a better wage elsewhere....
It's life.

Maybe Kelma hates Stefano - Who knows... My guess is - Not us.

Those 2 signings coming have more squad draw power than the 2 leaving.
