Stephen Humpries 2GB Resigned

Just announced on 2gb with a written statement from Humphreys. He will continue until another suitable candidate is found.

Oh dear. Why am I not surprised. Resigned? More like pushed to resigned. The trainwreck of a season just gets worse. Anyone who thinks this is a good thing is sorely misled. Humpty was a figurehead for a board about as mature as a childish bunch of monkeys. The asylum is officially here and in control. Now please appoint Grant Meyer. PLEASE!

I would imagine he will not be the last casualty given the mess we are in . I did not mind Humpty, he answered my emails and was a pretty approachable person, although you never know whats been going on behind the season.

Must be very hard to be the foot solider for a dis functional board room. Lets hope they find the right person very quickly to start the healing process of getting this club back together

Robbie Farah confirmed the news on Triple M's offload show this afternoon saying it was disappointing to see him leave the club

From SMH -

Wests Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys has resigned from the position in another blow for the bottom-placed NRL club.

Humphreys, who has been under pressure after the Tigers' disastrous start to the season which has been riddled with injuries to key players, has handed in his notice but is expected to stay on until a replacement is found.

‘‘It’s a big call and one I do with a heavy heart, but I’m doing it because it’s in the best interests of the club. It’s in that context that I make that difficult personal decision. Wherever I might end up I’ll always be looking out and trying to help out however I can.’’

If we haven't hit rock bottom yet, we mustn't be too far away from it.

He was not good for this club.
His behaviour in the Moltzen affair with Doust & Tauber was disgraceful, he brought shame on this club.

His comments regarding him re-arranging the gym, when the question, " has Tim Sheens coaching style become stale" was embarrasingly amateur.

Two of his biggest clangers. He's done plenty good, got plenty wrong

I know he's a figurehead, hes there to get the pats on the back when things go right, but he also has to cop the crap when things go wrong

Like when a coach gets the arse cause the team isnt performing - you cant sack an entire team, its the same for the CEO, when the board is as dysfunctional as our

When is it a good time for a CEO to quit/be punted? Never.

This Is true mate. He's certainly not blameless but you do wonder his real reason for resigning. I just have this cloud hanging over the issue telling me he couldn't work with the board room bickering, the childish wests/Balmain antics and at the very least it would've played its part.

My frustration on the issue is probably less about Humpty and more about our inept administration. Our captain has had his say on the airwaves this arvo. We're all just sick and tired of it. The fans would rather dissolve ties with Wests and Balmain than have this dribble continue.

It won't get better until the Magpies v Tigers merger is fixed. The club has no money, no direction and whilst the two are bickering nothing will change on and off the field.

Sad. But true.

He has done a disgraceful job. His word meant nothing…people were treated like crap over contracts..lhe was indecisive..lhe lost us respect with other clubs over the shamles pf the moltzen deal...he announced players were tigers for life, then released them three weeks later...he was bluffed by Gus into giving sheens three more years and millions when he was already stale...

A shambolic era.

To be fair they have been a few issues with humpty I havent agreed with….but yes he is probably way down the ladder on those that need to go.

I think this is the clean out most seem to be wanting, if so as long as those that really need to be swept away are, then I can wait.

Even now with Sheens gone and us 2/8....I have attended more games this year than most, I can see something eventually shining for us

It took Sheens nearly a decade to ruin us......might take that and more to rectify

I had a lot of time for the guy but do admit that he has made mistakes. Resigning Sheens when he was wanted by Penrith is the obvious one to me. I hope we can find someone experienced to take over not sure I have a high opinion of Mayer but time will tell.

Our foundation is still set and this could help to give Potter more reign (although he must be wondering why the clubs he is appointed to fall to pieces).

No-one person is bigger than our club - and it is our club!

Until they fix the magpies v tigers merger we will never be successful on the field.

They have no money, no direction. Until then we are going to struggle. The bicker and nothing gets done that needs to

Time to strip the club from the top and rebuild.

Humphreys is staying on until we get a replacement.

What if that takes months? Do negotiations continue with players? Do we leave next season's recruitment until all the decent players are gone?

Does he give Benji 4 milion until 2107 as a parting gift?

He needs to go immediately.
