The thing with Kearney is untill he gets a go we will never know…...My gut feeling though he would be about as successfull initially as someone like _**Ivan Cleary**_…..

He's been in the mix mentioned at a few clubs.....Eels, Bronco's as a replacement for Elliott at the Panthers and they have taken other options......Some scoffed at Anderson but he got the Eels who where odinary for most of the season by their own admission.......to a Grand final

Ivan - poor Ivan - Really?? They are a rabble at the moment the warriors but i think it is unfaur to compare Ivan and Kearney. Kearney will be the next coach to get a run i'm sure of it. And i think we'd be fools not to at least consider him once sheens is done or fails this year.

Danial Anderson is a Super Coach!! The only coach to ever do well with the limitless supply of potential across the ditch!!

Sheens' record coaching the Kangaroos isn't 100%. His first game he coached was a draw against the Kiwis..

Not Tim's fault if all we have to do is win 1 or 2 more games out of 4 at the back end of the seaseon to make the semis and the boys find a way to loose.

It is partly his fault but there are other reasons aswell.

Wasn't it partly Sheens' fault, before those last 4 games, that we didn't win more games earlier in the season???

He pretty much won those premierships in Canberra with one of the best teams ever - Stuart, Daley, Clyde, Mullins, Wiki, Meninga, Lazarus for some of the time. They were gifted to him!

You can't ignore the one finals series in 12 years - just not good enough

Yeah that Canberra team and Brisbane team in the early 90's must be up there with the best club teams of all time. Even I could have coached them to a premiership :stuck_out_tongue:

Would rather….......Graham Murray or Nathan Brown....

Brownie may want to return from the ESL in 2011.......

It will all come down to Sheens,if he wants to extend the club will extend his contract, I have no doubt he will have a good year with the club maybe not the holly grail but a top eight finish. If he was to pull the pin, Brown would be my choice, although he under achieved at the dragons I have a feeling he would gell with the tigers and would suit our style of play.

What a ridiculous comment. What coach has ever won a premiership with a lesser team. I can only think of two - John Lang with Penrith and Tim Sheens in 2005 :unamused: Every other premiership winner in the last 10 years has generally been one of the top 3 teams at the start of the season. Could any other coach got us to the premiership in 2005 - I highly doubt it.

Keeping a top side together or building a side from nothing is actually the sign of a good coach. Stuart couldnt keep the side that Murrary built and has done nothing at the Sharks. For these reasons I dont regard him highly.

100% on the mark ST .

Big fan of Stuarts in his playing days - However I believe there are no more excuses at cronulla in 2010.

Southern Tiger the game has changed alot since 1989\. How many times has a Sheens got his team into the finals in the last 12 seasons he has coached??? Once. He isn't as good as some people think. He seems untouchable but if we don't make the finals this year then he has to go. Yes 2005 was awesome but that was 5 years ago.

Alien that is a different argument.

Your argument was that Sheens success in the 80s and 90s was solely attributable to the players he had. I pointed out how stupid that argument is given all premiership teams in the last 20 years, bar 2005 and the Penrith victory, can be attributed to the teams having a great roster.

I have debated the question of Sheens merits on many occasion and dont intend to go back there. However, I will still point out the stupidity in some of the comments of people who persistently, and at all opportunity, criticise him.

Bennett.. Bellamy = Master and Apprentice.

Both are excellent Man managers and build teams Med to Long term. The fact that they have constantly had Superstart in the one team towns has to help somehere along the line as well.

**These two guys are the ONLY other coaches I would swap Tim Sheens for.**

Should I start my Bennett what ever it takes…Nah...

But think of the possabilities....
