**Whats Kearney done?**

Served an apprenticeship for the last four years working with two of the best coaches in the world in Bellamy & Bennett.

Everyone has to start somewhere.

If past achievments are the sole criteria, then only Bennetts resume will Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon Sheens'.
But there should be a bit more to it than that.

so u want an apprentice as a coach of the Tigers?

He's no apprentice, hes the current Kiwis test coach, but were not allowed to use that according to you.

Who said i can let u say that.? stop trying to make something out of it that im not.
He is currenty test coach that has so far proven what? Nothing to be over the moon about. he won the WC on the back of one game, also had the master coach of Bennett there. If he done the WC win with a dominant performance over hte whole WC games, then made the 4 nations final and won, and anything else for that matter i might see ur point of view. your just blinded by the dribble running out of your mouth.. want a hanky?

people constantly want a Tigers out fit to perform, saying we need bigger names, we need this and we need that, but some fool wants an apprentice to take us to the next step with no real reason to cheer about lol… funny poo

imo its obvious whats gonna happen. its gonna be one or two things.

Sheens will just be the face of the coaching staff in order to keep robbie and benji on board with folks making all the major decisions

**OR**

If sheens fails at the end of this season folks will take over as head coach

People think because Steve Folkes is part of the football club, that the board has put him their as a back stop in case Sheens fails. Iam afraid thats is not the case, Sheens was the person that head hunted folkes for the job, like with all other postions within the operational side of the football club.

Now if Sheens decides not to seek a contract extension or if the club decides to go down another path the only advantage Folkes may have over another candidate is that he is familiar with the players from his capacity as strength and fitness coordinator.

I think Kearney will be coaching somewhere in the NRL
quite soon, hes one of the new breed…think he'll be
around for some time too imo.

Every current coach started somewhere
...but some are finishing no -where.

Jeez,I reckon the facts are pretty simple…if Sheens fails to make the 8 again this year,it will be 5 seasons in a row & surely no coach deserves to be rewarded for such a consistent record of failure..I cant understand antone who cld possibly support him(other than close friends & family)?
Hes lived off 05 for way too long already.
So who else is there that cld do a better job.. the bloke who took the Bulldogs to consistent success for most of the last decade(with the risk that he mite be yesterdays man),or the unproven Kearney who has worked with the very best(Bellyache)but is unproven??
For mine,I certainly dont want to see mediocrity (spellt TIM SHEENS)potentially replaced with more of the same,so Id opt for the experienced & proven Folkes over the unproven Kearney..
...but anything wld be better than the incumbent serial underperformer

would not be suprised to see Steve Folkes eventually in coach spot.
get a very hard head like Peter Kelly/Shane Webcke to assist with forwards

You'd rather another old git with the same opinions and view points! :brick:

Very quick to judge a person who has had great success on the coaching staff down there in Melbourne. I doubt very much that Kearney is there just to sit in the box and agree with everything bellamy has to say. He is a very big reason behind the success of the storm. Along with the other guy, is it Maguire??

I think stephen Kearney would be ideal. Great apprenticeship (And don't start that cr@p abut him being an apprentice) under bellamy and a very successful side for around 5 years now. Fresh ideas and views on the game which would be great for the club. Sometimes a change is the best thing. Sheens has been here since ,what '03! May be getting stale. A freshen up is on the cards, and who better than Kearney.

Couldn't agree more!

And as for Trexx's nothing special remarks

Coached New Zealand to a World Cup Win - kinda special

Is on the coaching staff of one of the most successful clubs in the modern ers. Helping take the Melbourne Storm to 4 straight Grand Finals winning 2 of them! - also kinda special

I think if we don't sign him someone else will and it'll definitely come back to bite us. The players would want to play for him, IMO.

Bellamy thinks pretty highly of the guy which is good enough for me - sign him up!

:deadhorse:

Give it a rest mate - he is an accomplished member of the Melbourne storm coaching staff.

give what a rest.??
goose

exactly… a member... not a first grade coach

WC Winner?? gimme a break.. One flipping game they won... what else has he done?? how did they go in the 4 nations.?

Who was his assistant during the WC? If they lose the WC im pretty sure the opinions of him would be a little different. One Game doesnt make him the answer.

well if Melb coach thinks highly of him we better get him.. what do u expect him to say…
" nah he isnt that crash hot, sits at training twittling his thumbs and i wouldnt rec him to any club"

wake up

We don't want to be associated with the biggest whinger in the game, leave Stuart with Cronulla he seems to be doing such a great job there.

Danny Weidler is full of hot air.

Stuart has probably been in contact with the club and sheens, not about a coaching role but on how to best unleash the great John Morris' talents and what steps they had taken in unleashing his inner cooper cronk!

T rexx, tisk tisk tisk.

So your not willing to give anyone a go. We were in the hunt for bellamy there at one stage while he was an 'apprentice' as you like to refer to them, we missed out and ended up with sheens. Ballamy has turned out to be not a bad coach.

YOU WAKE UP!!! Everyone starts somewhere, Bellamy under bennett, so why not Kearney under Bellamy. Surely he's been able to pick up some handy coaching techniques that bellamy picked up from bennett!

I'd much rather Kearney as a first timer than any of the others out there coaching at the moment.
