well if Melb coach thinks highly of him we better get him.. what do u expect him to say…
" nah he isnt that crash hot, sits at training twittling his thumbs and i wouldnt rec him to any club"

T rexx, tisk tisk tisk.

So your not willing to give anyone a go. We were in the hunt for bellamy there at one stage while he was an 'apprentice' as you like to refer to them, we missed out and ended up with sheens. Ballamy has turned out to be not a bad coach.

**YOU WAKE UP!!!** Everyone starts somewhere, Bellamy under bennett, so why not Kearney under Bellamy. Surely he's been able to pick up some handy coaching techniques that bellamy picked up from bennett!

I'd much rather Kearney as a first timer than any of the others out there coaching at the moment.

PMSL….!!!! its like u are ready to RUMBLE !!!!

u are like a little child..

as for Kerneay u seem to be like a few others, blinded by his coaching ability due to one game in the WC and that he under Graig. does that mean we should go for Matty Johns to since he was assisting down there as well..

You like many others whinge that we dont win games and that our younger players are not stepping up, then u want to start again with another ROOKIE? So how long then are u willing to wait to get success? another 2 or three years. what happens when alot of our top seasoned players are past their use by date... u want to wait a furher 2 or 3 years?

if SHEENS DOES go due to poor form, i for one would want an EXPERIENCED coach to take us not some rookie who has still no form to show his coaching ability.. but going by your form guide that one single WC game is all we need

you imply he has no experience at all. Kearney is the NZ coach and apart of the Melbourne setup. As for Johns, i'm sure we already have him keeping an eye on AJ.

Not once have i whinged about a lack of success, or that our juniors aren't steppin up. Quiet the opposite. I'm a massive fan of Dwyer and think with another full year of U/20s Mullaney will be a superstar come 2011.

I simply think that getting another 'older', i wont say expereinced, coach is not the way to go. Fresh relatively young new ideas are the way forward. The game changes nearly every season with regard to pace and structures adopted to defence and attack. In order to keep up i think Kearney is the man to implement these tactics and keep the tigers moving forward. Sheens, except for 05, just hasn't cut it, and if this year he fails then Kearney is our man!

I wouldn't waste anytime in signing KERNEAY to a 2 year contract, those in the know and who know their footy know that his time has come to step up and coach a first grade side.

sticky was a great player and is a great coach..

the first part is right ….but as a coach... he was handed the reins of the roosters after graham murray built a top side. they then beat the warriors by default due to the dogs salary cap rort ..he then moved on to cronulla and as we caqn see both sides linger at the bottom ... so i simply have trouble seeing the GREAT in his coaching...

Tim Sheens is a better Head coach than both these two options…

The Peter Gentle and Steve Folkes input will help in 2010

Has taken a 1st grade side to the finals once (2005) in the last 12 years! 😱pen_mouth: I'm not saying Stuart is a good option. I hate him - terrible coach! I think Kearney is the man.

I have no doabt we will make the finals this year though. I think that will allow sheens to stick around a bit longer.

Oh really?

Club Games
Sheens: 50% win ratio
Stuart: 55% win ratio

Reps
Sheens: 67% win ratio
Stuart : 91% win ratio

thats a really really really poor example to use…

at the end of the coaching carrerr lets see what the % is like then.. Stuart hasnt been coaching anywhere near as long as Sheens..

BUT

IF u want to go with that scenario..

RICKY STUARTs % as Aussie Coach is no where near as good as Sheens..
isnt SHEENS 100% with the Aussie Team.. Now going off your rule of thumb we have the best COACH money can buy :S

maybe think before u write what u do… not overly the smartest cookie in the jar

He pretty much won those premierships in Canberra with one of the best teams ever - Stuart, Daley, Clyde, Mullins, Wiki, Meninga, Lazarus for some of the time. They were gifted to him!

You can't ignore the one finals series in 12 years - just not good enough

Ricky Inherited a ready made side and systimatically destroyed it at Rosters and then there has been Cronalla

Tim Sheens in his last two roles has been brought in to build a club that has been languishing. Both The Cows and the Tigers had nothing going for them at this time.

The cows are onle a fraction better with the best blayer going around and our Tigers have under perfomed especially since 2005\. Not Tim's fault if all we have to do is win 1 or 2 more games out of 4 at the back end of the seaseon to make the semis and the boys find a way to loose.

Clutching at straws.

Your rule of thumb…you could choose Sunday games, games against teams below us, games on Fri nights...as it is youve chosen one area where sheens has what? 3 or 4 games? :deadhorse:
Your rule of thumb is to move the goalposts to suit your argument.

FAIL.

My rule of thumb.
All games.

I think T- Rexx has a point about statistics…....you can use them to make people look bad or good.......they don't take into account so many things......

Buckets...you talk about All games....but Stuart has only Coached for how Long??????..........who's to say his record wont be 48.3 % by the time he has Coached as many games as Sheens....if he lasts that long as a Coach.......

Why drag up the past ......isn't 2010 what's important.....besides it pointless......I don't think it's to hard to figure out Sheens is here as long as Sheens wants to be here...

Some use Kearney's WC as an achievement.....so the current Aussie coach 1(Four Nations)....Stuart 0 (World Cup)..should count for something......

Of course stats dont tell the whole story…they never do.
Theres personality, junior development, respect...authority...and many many more aspects to coaching
need to be addressed when evaluating individuals.

Whos to say his record wont be 63.89%...we dont know. We only know the past

Why drag up the past

Its all we know

Yeh, so wrong isnt it?

Well if we are taking those things into account in a Sheens V Stuart….I think Sheens wins hands down....just my opinion though......

The thing with Kearney is untill he gets a go we will never know......My gut feeling though he would be about as successfull initially as someone like Ivan Cleary.....

He's been in the mix mentioned at a few clubs.....Eels, Bronco's as a replacement for Elliott at the Panthers and they have taken other options......Some scoffed at Anderson but he got the Eels who where odinary for most of the season by their own admission.......to a Grand final

I'd take an expierenced replacement for Sheens, planned and well thought out....shame to see the talent built up here go to waste for another 2 to 3 years........

That was the same for Sheens though once upon a time.

Some people cant accept this though.

Everyone starts somewhere
