Every team is looking for ways to slow the ruck down , this is just another way

Agree with it or not we will never stop this

As I since once before , we were getting trained with Judo moves in the 80's to hep bring bigger defenders down

It's ok to slow down the ruck but what Melbourne do is lift the player up.

As b&w said, the McKinnon incident is not a tackle gone wrong but a tactic gone wrong. Bellamy knows this and still advises his scumbag army to get the players' leg off the ground. When they do that, you have no control whatsoever and if the guy near your head doesn't grab a hold of you properly then you're going face first into the ground.

It wasn't such a problem before because these sort of tackles were done accidentally on a rare occasion but the more you do it, the more your chances are of effing it up.

Every time we ban one thing , someone comes up with something else usually more risky than the last

I had a coach that told us to grab a bloke by the nose because you have to follow your nose around

Things never change unfortunately , the only solution would be big penalties and suspensions and then clubs challenge it and get it downgraded

I blame referees tbh.

The chicken wings should have been penalised out of the game. The cannonball the same.

Now with "strategic" lifting how can other people see it but not the refs? Tell the players not to lift and if they keep doing it, penalise.

It is that simple but the refs these days are 'roos in front of the headlights.
