Story behind your username

Mine has a very exciting origin. Not really, I live in the NT and at the time I joined I was the only person I knew of up here that supported Wests Tigers. I now know the bloke in the house across the footpath from mine is also a WT supporter. Who would have figured, small world.

Lol no Bob, definitely not. In all honesty there is no rhyme nor reason for my user name - it literally just came into my head when I was registering and I thought good, surely no one else would have that silly name! lol. Then I put some laughing dolphins on as my first avatar because they kinda went well with the name - you know flipper, flippedy, and it also suits my strange and sometimes flippant personality

Was just having a laff flip, I didn't mean any offence!

No offence taken Bob, I knew you were joking, all good :stuck_out_tongue:

One of our children's favourite books at bedtime when they were very young, was a big beautifully illustrated book, called Wild animals. The Tiger section had a Picture of a Tigress playfully wresling with her cubs. I would point to the cubs and say "Cubs" and they would repeat the word. Then i would point to the female Tiger and say " Tigress." But they would shake their head and point to her again and then back at me and say "No,No, it's Mama. So after that, the beutiful Tigress and myself became Tigermama and I affectionately called them my little cubs  hence my username.

Mine just comes from a (extinct) tiger that isn't actually a tiger.

Insightful, I know.

Sabre Your the John Cougar Mellencamp of the Forum

How many times did you change the spelling of Sabre ,Saber , The Artist formerly known as Sabre

I'm surprised you remember that.
Sabre was what it was originally, then changed to Saber because I'd seen it spelt that way and thought mine was incorrect. Then back to Sabre after I found out Saber was the American spelling.

I remember it as well, thinking I am sure that was spelt differently/maybe I am going mad, until I saw a post on the matter.

Obviously mine is to with Paul Sironen, buy it's not because I was a fan of his heyday. Don't get me wrong, I always liked Siro, but it was late in his career when he reinvented himself as a front rower and carried our pack on his own in a poor side that I admired most

Love Jason Segel, love his character in How I Met Your Mother (Marshall) even more. Vanilla Thunder sounds a little less uppity than Big Fudge, and at (barely) 70 kegs I could hardly claim that. I'm also pasty white, but I blame my Welsh dad for that.

Nah really,
I like the Halo franchise on the XboX a little to much, it is my outlet from a very busy life, I have read all the books etc

I will buy and probably finish Halo 5 on October 27 this Spring.

Well my name was given to me by my 1st grade coach when I got into trouble with the law and got locked up for the weekend ha ha hence my next training session he announced that the club had just signed up the Moranbah
Mafia that was back in 1980 and the only person who calls me by my birth name is my mother. Mention my name in my home town and they would say who, say Mafia and everyone will no who you are talking about.

Big Taniela Tuiaki was my favourite Tigers player back when he was around. I love Teriyaki chicken wings too. Tuiaki and Teriyaki kinda sound the same so came up with yours truly…

Tuiaki Chicken Wings

Kinda just rolls off the tongue really.

My nickname is Goose, has been since I was about 12, alot of people dont know my real name. There is a story.

Playing a game once we were pumping a side, and I had just taught myself the Goose Step, so I made a few breaks and let them catch me so I could do a Goose Step, it worked twice, the 3rd time, it didnt I got smashed. My Dad yelled out from the sideline (very rare for him) and said serves you right, just because you are a goose doesnt mean I have to do a goose step. Everyone laughed, they called me Goose ever since.

On an aside, my dad told my coach that I had to sit on the bench the following week for making fun of the opposition. The lesson didnt fully sink in to I was a little older, but I became pretty big on treating the opposition with respect.

Moral of the story, dont be a smartarse.

Nothing exciting bout my user, was living at the time in glebe when i registered. Decided on the glebe reds logo for nostalgic reasons.

ha ha… great thread!

mine is a portmanteau i made up of my surname, Turner, and the word style, which forms TurnStyle. a turnstile is a poor defender as most of you know and style is always cool!

so true to my character, i thought it was witty and funny and just that one level deeper than the first thought....

i often see people posting about how a certain player is a 'turnstyle' instead of turnstile!

by the way, another portmanteau i have invented is for my dogs (cross) breed:
Labradaffy!

he is a cross between a labrador and american staffy, and the daffy sums him up to a tee. also, it sounds less threatening than "Stabrador"!!!
