Really interesting to see people's recommends, thanks. A bit left field. I got a free trial of a Documentary streaming service called Docplay. (I think it is 10 bucks a month normally, I'll have to look). With lockdown I'm struggling to watch drama at the moment - don't know why. But I really like this service, has a great range of docos. Current fave is 'Collective' which won the Academy Award last year. It's about a fire in a nightclub in Belgrade, and how a sports newspaper starts an investigation, that basically brings down the government. Sounds unusual, I know, but I found it really gripping.

I have curiosity which isn't too bad

As I might have mentioned elsewhere I work in film and TV and I love nothing more than watching movies, but last little while I just can't concentrate on them. Found docos easier for some reason. yeah, it's a wild story. Shifts points of view from the journos, to the people sent in to clean up the 'mess'. Anyway, as I said, left field.

We use to have a guy, named.... coincidentally Blake Ayshford who wrote and directed a few things post on here.

Not sure he's posting anymore.

Same bloke, Demps. Am working on an ABC show called Mystery Road set in outback WA at the moment.

Is that the one with Aaron pedersen. Great sow.

Yep Cochise. Speaking of true legends. The man is incredible. Nice of you to say - I was only one part, the cast and director (and the scenery) did a lot of hard work. I also, got to spend a few months in Broome during the filming which was a lot better than when I used to get to go on location filming in Epping.

Really professional guy. Pushed himself to give his best. It's exciting when you finally get the chance to work with great actors who find layers and levels in the script you never knew were there.

I watched The Suicide Squad a few days ago, that was cool - so much better than the first film which was just a horrible mess. Ensemble cast in this work much better, particularly Stallone as Killer Shark, Polka Dot man and Jon Cena's Captain Freedom.

Where'd you see that?
Cinema?

Streaming

Free? ?
Was the quality good?

Indeed it was

Same bloke, Demps. Am working on an ABC show called Mystery Road set in outback WA at the moment.

Is that the one with Aaron pedersen. Great sow.

Yep Cochise. Speaking of true legends. The man is incredible. Nice of you to say - I was only one part, the cast and director (and the scenery) did a lot of hard work. I also, got to spend a few months in Broome during the filming which was a lot better than when I used to get to go on location filming in Epping.

He is one of our most underrated actors and comes across as a quality human being as well.

Not to mention this under rated legend....

He's been putting in work for years.
Heartbreak High to Underbelly, Bikie Wars...

He's a talent for sure.
Ima suss this show for sure.

Didn’t something messed up happen to him , and he had to give the game away for a long time , which is why half his face is lazy ? I think the whole story is a real message to perseverance from memory . I’m missing the details though .

Edit : I just saw your previous post .

Decent bloke, caught the train into Sydney CBD with him one morning while he was filming Bikie Wars, he was already dressed in character, his Mrs meanwhile was in a suit and jumped off at Wynyard while Callan continued on.

I've been watching Ted Lasoo and What We Do in The Shadows with the wife and 10 yo kid. They are both pretty funny. Ted Lasoo second season has a lot more adult themes though compared to the first season.

It’s funny , the accident added a tough exterior and aesthetic , that definitely would separate him from the average “goon” look in Hollywood I reckon .
Such a weird relationship to something that could have wrecked him personally and his career , but in many ways helped propel it .

just watched Val on Amazon prime
it is a doco on Val Kilmer where he took behind the scenes home movies of himself in all the movies he was in pretty interesting show

New season of What We Do in the Shadows sits next month. I love that show.

I just watched season 1 of Ted Lasso. It is a bit cringe at times how nice he is and the soccer scenes are just awful, but I enjoyed it. Will start on season 2 shortly.
