Surprise packet of 2012

One of the things that gets me through the off season is wondering who will be the surprise packet of 2012; the player who at the end of the year has exceeded all expectations in the top grade. Interested to hear your thoughts. You may care to list one back and one forward.

Looking back on 2011 I would have to say Aaron Woods and Blake Ayshford.

2012 I am going for:
Forwards: BMM
Backs: John Grant

i agree woods and ayshford both stood up big time next year i think neil begovich and j miller

2010 - Ayshford, UTAI, Woods for mind.

2011 - Reddy, Grant, Galloway - Im expecting the big fella to become one of the premier props in the game this year, much akin to the rise of Matt Scott this year.

I'm hoping for a big year from John Grant. I think he'll exceed expectations.
Liam Fulton should also be in for a big year after the way he finished 2011\. It would be fair to say there is a lot of room for improvement given the injury toll we suffered last year. A fit Lote, Lawrence and Ellis would be sensational.
BMM also ran the ball well in the glimpses we got of him in the back end of the year also.

Back: Grant
Forward Murdoch-Masila

For the back I'm thinking Lote. Why because it's going to be his last year and IMO he will wind back the clock and have a big year.

The Forwards… IMO Woods has the potential to do anything and will continue his form of 2011.

I think it will be very interesting to see how John Grant goes during pre season with the team, and training with them….however, i do believe he will start in NSW cup, but I think could surprise a lot of people next year. So, for backs, its John Grant for me, and perhaps also Lawrence - with hopefully a season with no injuries and his inclusion in the Australia side, he could definitely assert his authority as a dominant centre in the game. For the forwards, I think Aaron Woods. He already this year exceeded Tim Sheens' expectations, and I only think he will grow from that. Also watch out for Ben Murdoch - Masila.

2012 Surprises

Backs - Jacob Miller & Mitch Brown

Forwards - Aaron Woods NSW

Public Enemy Award
Andrew Fifita

He is already a great player, but I reckon Chris Lawrence will rise to an even higher level next year. Looking forward to seeing what Grant can do and I feel that Bell might surprise us all as well.

murdoch and woods could be really good coming on from the interchange but i guess it wouldnt be that big of a surprise. i expect them both to improve next year

Matty groat for me. Came on well towards the end of this season and I think he will have an awesome 2012\. I saw him today at mac square and I didn't think he was that big. But standing next to him, whoa that fella is a monster.

Injury preventing, Lawrence should play origin next yr which will lift him to an even higher level I reckon. For the forwards, I think groat will lift much the same that woods did this yr
