Hard to find a top quality appointee for a job like this where you have to be a combination of capable people friendly administrator and complete sob where the club's interests so dictate. Gould is the template.

Would Stuart Raper really be the right guy for this role either? To be honest he was an average coach and I dont think he would be the type of guy that players would come to the club because he tried to recruit them.
Buckets would be a good choice although lack of football admin experience ie salary cap - might hinder him. Although what better bloke to sell the club to another player. Passionate as they come and loved by all.
I would like to see someone like Matt Elliot or Mick Hagan take the role or a left field like Luke Ellis/Gareth Holmes from the NRL. Luke was football manager for the roosters previously while Gareth was the Kangaroos Football Manager. What is clear is that our recruitment needs to fit into our salary cap and never go back to where we were before….
