Symbolism in the name

I doubt it was chosen on this basis alone, but there is a great deal of symbolism in the club having its base at Concord Oval.
The word _"Concord"_ stems from the Latin word _"Concordia"_ which roughly translates into "_unity, harmony_"
In fact between AD284-311 when there were four emperors spread across the empire, a great deal of propaganda (be it coins or monuments) was produced spreading the idea of _Concordia Imperatorum_ - unity of the empire.

One of the best examples of this is a portrait originally from Constantinople but now found in Venice:

The four co-emperors, brothers in arms and equal.
Notice how they are all the same height, wear the same clothes, are all holding their swords and their faces are identical. This was done intentionally to promote the idea that four emperors could unite for the one cause, the empire.

So for the Wests Tigers, being an equal joint venture, to have their base at Concord Oval has meaning that resonates to another level.
