Attack:
1\. Minimise Barba's kick returns. Either kick the ball dead or kick to the sideline.
2\. Kick to the corners. Preferably to Koroibete's wing where he can sprint and put pressure on either Barba or their winger. We did this well against the Dragons.
3\. Don't panic in attack. If we can't score 20m out, roll the ball into the goal line.
4\. Moltzen has to come into the attacking line more when we are 20m out and get their defence another option to worry about. Right now it's either Benji or Farah doing the attacking options, Moltzen has to get his hands on the ball a little more.

Defence:
1\. Rush in and up in defence. Their forwards are going to be doing a lot of passing so we need to be up in their face and not standing back watching them. When we defend like this we go on to win a lot of games I have noticed. Sheens especially gets us to defend like this against the quality teams. Not sure why he doesn't enforce we do this ALL the time.
2\. Wrap up the ball. Don't allow them to offload. This is our biggest weakness and their biggest strength. It MUST be stopped.
3\. Rattle Barba in defence. Get somebody to give him a good hit and hopefully he'll be a little more reluctant to run the ball.

If my memory is ok..last time we played the Dogs Benji put up the high ball against Barba and that tactic was reasonably successful. That is the go..put it up, give time for the jumpers to go up and less time for Barba to take the ball and run.

Beau's chases were great that night, put plenty of pressure on Barba. Not sure Moltz could do the same

I don't see why not when he's twice as fast and was the first guy there for every bomb and kick put through against the Dragons.

Because his speed is a myth and he doesn't contest the high ball with any sort of confidence.

We're talking about getting to attacking kicks here alex.
How you don't think he has got any pace is intriguing - before Koriabete came into the team he was far and away our fastest player . (Lawrence is around the same pace normally when not playing injured as he has been for a while)
Don't think I 'd want to put money on anyone else in our team to outrun him.

Moltzen speed isnt a myth , its one only things he has going for him . He has lots of promise and he has lots of speed . Alex do you think beau would have got those 3 tries against the dragons last week ? I think he may have got one if he was lucky . if you have benji on your team then moltzen is handy enough at fullback in attack..sometimes defense…and occasionally under the high ball

gotta play boring for the first 20, 25 minutes of the game. run hard, kick harder and chase the hardest.
one bad kick wont change the game as much as one bad chase can. chase in a nice strong line and if he runs sideways, form a ring around him…communication will be vital here.

attack... as OP said, it's important to be patient. i dont see those inside balls in the middle helping us get a try, inside ball on the fringes will be they key here imo.

MASSIVE test this. attitude, just like the one we showed against parramatta.. in the sense that never to give up and play to your game plan

Reckon with the Bulldogs short interchanges of passes between forwards we go man on and utilize defensive line speed to put their timing off and create turnovers

If we can maintain the rage for eighty minutes defensively we have enough points in us to win

Think you will find we use the bomb sparingly with our attack starting to show signs of life (and depending who plays)

I have always been of the believe that teams use a style of attack that they don't want to confront

With our skills in our backrow would like to see us try a short passing game as well and really target Keating and Inu as they can make bad reads defensively

Happy's idea to counter their offloads is the right one.

Here's my way to beat them.

Attack: No concern, we can score enough points to beat them just playing our style.

Defence: Is key. Their key men are Josh Morris and Ben Barba. They are the only two men in the side capable of simply standing up players and scoring against a good defensive line. Barba can be contained by cover defence. If he gets in space the central defenders need to cover the wide and vice versa. Morris needs to be jammed in on. He will get on the outside of the centre and use the winger to attract our defensive winger so the winger needs to commit to him and our centre to their winger.

To contain their big men in the middle it is a case of DON'T PANIC. The initial theory would be to go in up high to contain the ball but that is wrong. The likes of Kasiano and Pritchard are strong up high and will not only get their arms free and offload anyway but will remain upright and capable of influencing the play further. Furthermore attempting to go in and making good contact high influences the Dogs passing rush. Instead hit them middle and low and don't panic if they offload, allowing the offload will allow the Tigers to predict the offloads and hit the recipient. Don't put too many numbers into tackles in the middle on guys like Kasiano and Graham as this will just provide space for the likes of Josh Jackson and Eastwood to cut back through the ruck either via quick play the balls or receiving offloads. Instead DON'T PANIC if one on one tackles allow the Dogs to get an offload away because if the rest of the defensive line keeps their shape they've simply gone back to square one. If we can lock their forwards passing rush down by giving our defenders space it will rattle the Bulldogs and I am confident they will have no answer to it. Up and in defence is what the Bulldogs want to see because it allows them to utilise quick passing movements to find spaces on the edges. See how the Bulldogs go instructing the play without being influenced by the defence. When I have watched the Bulldogs I see the defence making the decision for the Bulldogs and I think this is how Des coaches them. He coaches against defences rather than for his attack.

But I digress I ramble.

Oh I'd like to add that I think the Tigers did exactly that against the Dogs and it worked. We were just a few classy players short of a win on that day and our team is in better shape now than it was then. I am confident because I expect the Tigers to utilise the same game plan.

Out scoring is usually a winning tactic. Don't worry at what their good at, let's do what we've been good at, all out attack. Play it up tempo, give them no break in play, otherwise they can dictate and grind a win out.

Have to find touch with our long kicks so barba , perrett , inu don't run it back . Have to watch Frank the Tank always steps up against us . Contest every bomb that we put up for barba he is a confidence player bash him a few times and hopefully he won't come back

Do we fox a little with our tactics? If Sheens and co do have a strategy to beat the dogs, do we show it on Friday night or save it for an elimination final?

No foxing for this game, really have to win, if we can manage to grab all 3 a home final beckons. I think Perrett will be getting a lot of the kicks his way. Have watch the edges though, Utai got caught out a few times V the dragons. Make sure Reynolds and all of their forwards have to do a lot lateral work and plenty of tackles.

Frank to tank always steps up against the tigers. Need to watch him.

I think we have to take Barba out the game by kicking the ball into touch or high in the air with chasers.

Reynolds loves to go himself so needs to be hit and not fall for dummies.

Need to start the game well. St Chockers and Parramatta got starts on us before we ran them down.

We have to win this game plus the other two. Not only to improve our position but to go into the final series with momentum and form.

With the new finals format you need to finish in the top 4 for a chance to win the Grand Final (In the AFL who use the same finals system for a number of years has a team won from 5 to 8 position).

Gameplan = from the whistle get off the line quickly and bash them, and don't stop bashing them till the whistle blows again. Aggressive defence wins us this game we have to upset their rhythm.
