Tahu gone missing

I cannot believe I used to rate this bloke as a footballer!! He has totally lost the plot - a great buy by fat-arse Osborne!

From today's Telegraph by Dean Ritchie:

PARRAMATTA has secretly granted Timana Tahu a week's leave after relevations the Eels star has been missing from training and continues to battle his personal demons.
The admission comes from Eels chief executive Paul Osborne after claims Tahu has been AWOL from Parramatta pre-season training since Monday.

Parramatta denied Tahu has gone missing instead blaming his absence from Monday's session on car trouble, however, he hasn't been back to Parramatta Stadium since.

This latest drama involving Tahu follows his omission from the Indigenous All Stars team voted on by the public.

Tahu has also reportedly refused to enter mediation talks after accusations that he racially abused a 16-year-old player at an Aboriginal knockout tournament in October at Woy Woy.

Osborne said the NSW State of Origin star had asked for a few days leave - a request that was approved by new Parramatta coach Steve Kearney.

"Timana has asked for a few days off," Osborne said.

"He did have car problems on Monday but I knew about that. I have spoken to Steve and he knows about it [Tahu's absence].

"There are no dramas. He has been training really well, training the house down."

Pressed again on whether Tahu had gone AWOL, Osborne reiterated: "No. He is spending time with his family."

Parramatta players are talking among themselves about Tahu and say he has in fact gone AWOL. The Daily Telegraph spoke to one player privately who admitted the former Australian star had not been seen for nearly a week.

"We don't know where he is," the player said.

The Eels are handling Tahu delicately after a bizarre season involving two racial vilification dramas. After leaving camp with NSW over a racial slur from assistant coach Andrew Johns, Tahu was then accused of racially abusing Caleb Binge at the Koori Knockout tournament the week after the NRL grand final.

Tahu, who is yet to re-sign with Parramatta for next season, has strongly denied the claim. However there is little doubt Tahu is a troubled footballer.

One source close to Parramatta said: "He seems a lost soul at the moment."

Following Tahu's snub in the Indigenous All-Stars team, Preston Campbell has claimed the Parramatta player's image had been tarnished this year.

Chris Binge, father of the teenager Tahu allegedly racially abused at Woy Woy, said the Parramatta player continues to refuse any mediation talks with his son Caleb, who was allegedly called a "black c***."

Binge, who stands by his allegations against Tahu, has told the media the NRL star's credibility is on the line.

This doesn't surprise me in the least. When things don't go his way or the going gets tough, he simply does the Harry. The guy has proven time and time again he is knows little of loyalty or decorum. He is a sook of the highest order and a hypocrite and the sooner he is gone from the game and forgotten the better…

my prediction of him being the first player sacked is looking better now. especially with the new coach i can see him saying if your not focusing on the team you cant stay. obviously they wont sack him for this but if it is a continuous thing i cant see any other way

I am not sure that they have signed him for next year. I think it is a verbal agreement. Sounds like he may walk away from the deal!

Isn't this the guy who said he would not even talk to Rugby Union and then a week later signed with them. Who accused one of our greats of being racist for a derogatory slur, and then went and did the same thing to a minor!

Timanah Tahu has no credibility, but even worse he has no honor. If you did it then admit you said it. Don't make it worse by accusing the kid of being a liar. I would not have him at our club under any circumstances!!

id definately like to change my 2011 prediction of 1st to be sacked to tahu. this guy is the biggest sook goin round n if he doesnt pull his head in he will be given the boot

one would say he's gone WALKABOUT.........

*ba-dum TISH*

although next week he will probably tell us all that he is somoan because one of his great great great grandparents were born there

the public voted for players to be in all star team.
his omission is probably a wake up call to himself and it would appear he can't accept, the public don't care whethere he plays in NRL or not.
if he does walk away from NRL, in years to come he will blame everyone, but himself.
get over yourself and get on with life.

Sensitive lot of Forum members we have here haven't we, footballers aren't immune from suffering any of the problems that everyday people face.
Remember the demons that Peter Jackson privately faced, it wasn't until the details came out after his death of the torment he went through and Tahu has had a troubled upbringing and with the pressure he has faced with the allegation he obviously is having having time off to come to terms with things, sensitivity please people.

he likes to question other peoples morals yet cant handle it when others question his morals. look in the mirror
