What was his term? I read somewhere the other day it was for “at least 6 months” which would mean it was for as long as it takes, I could be wrong on that, though.
6 months. His term had to be extended.
Why not just appoint Barry and let him do his job.
It’s a far too familiar story, we’ve lost so many good people simply because they’re not yes men.

Baz has been appointed however his confirmation will occur simultaneously as the other appointees in order to include the owners in the selection process.

Well that wasn’t my intention …. I was thinking about the best way to describe my relationship to Balmain and wests magpies and I’ve come up with this analogy .
I see them as the parents who won’t stop fighting leading up to your wedding , where you turn around and say “if you don’t sort your shit out youre not coming to the wedding” .
Doesn’t mean you don’t love and appreciate them . It just means thier toxicity is going to ruin all the good times ahead .
It’s up to them at that point .
Then you get married and understand it was a warning…..

OMG
Can we stay on topic about Wests Tigers, please? I'm sure I'm not the only one who is sick to death of Balmain versus Western Suburbs 🙄 They're not in the NRL anymore. Wests Tigers are. This is a Wests Tigers Forum.
Happy to delete any more rambling, attacking, provoking posts, and for the posters to be given a bit of a spell on the bench.
Keep it civil, please.

I can't speak for @BZN but if he and other former Magpies supporters feel in part disenfranchised by the club and perhaps by this forum its how they feel......it's a perspective.

Easy fix in my opinion. Re the club it's good business..........look at the extent of engagement the Sydney Swans go to to engage with former South fans and it works..........it's not division but inclusion.

And their relocation occurred 18 years before our JV and if anything there is more not less.

Every time something like this comes up some claim it's calls to bring back the magpies.........it's BS.

The club should go hard and engage everyone.

It's good for business.

What do you think the club should do to engage former Magpies fans?

What do you think the club should do to engage former Magpies fans?

Well for starters loads more engagement with SW.

Secondly, more historical throwbacks for both parent clubs......perhaps jazz up a game each........look at the bloods model also......rather than moving away from the bloods.......they actually encourage it.

See every time people are told no don't....we're the WT don't mention JV partners you'll get pushback. It's not about the parents but about a connection.......a feeling one belongs.

What do you lose?

If all you do is recognise the past then how are you ever supposed to move forward?

Just like a seasoned librarian, telling them to shush up.

I think the club is setting up genuine engagement with the SW, not tokenistic as we have done in the past. I think a program like Wests Tigers Empower is a great initiative to drive real meaningful engagement in the region.

I have no problem recognising and respecting the past, but I do want to see us creating out own identity. I am sick of the media going to the like of Benny, Blocker and Gary Jack for opinion on the Wests Tigers when we have our own legends in guys like Patty Richards and Chris Lawrance.

That's how you move forward.

It's actually an edgy promotion which would create intrigue and open loop interest amongst young fans.

But anyway doesn't need much........you don’t want to much........just a tad.

The Swans model is a great example. It's compartmentalised and seemingly doesn't create friction.

If some people feel that they belong on the train but aren't yet on or seated you stop the train and get em on board.

What do you lose?

You know there a new bloods fans becoming members who were born 20 years after the relocation.

Do they make Swans fans feel ignored? No.

The engagement with South Melbourne fans is cult like down there.
